Alright guys, this is my first story on this site, so give me some tips! ^^ Enjoy!

I also fixed some of the errors in it, changed some of the sentences to so they weren't run-ons. No major changes.

Disclaimer: I do not own Storm Hawks.

"Mommy!"

The woman lifted her head towards the door to the living room where her sons voice was coming from.

"Yes Aerrow?"

"Some guy is at the door!"

Slowly, she lifted herself from the kitchen table to the door, across the living room, and quickly looked out the window to see a man standing outside the door. These days, you could never be too careful.

She opened the door to a tall, lanky man with a look of sorrow and despair masking his face. All he ever did was hold out an envelope, utter the words "I'm sorry" and then shuffle towards the next house.

"What is it Mommy?" asked Aerrow, trying to sneak a peek at the envelope.

"I'm not sure. We won't know till we read it." she said as she closed the door and opened the envelope. Aerrow watched as she began to scan her eyes over the letter inside.

Aerrow stood patiently, curiosity overflowing. He hadn't done much in the past few days, so anything was good to pass the time. However, his curiosity changed to worry as he saw his mothers eyes widen in disbelief as they ran back and forth across the paper.

"We are sorry to inform everyone that the Storm Hawks Squadron perished in the war against Cyclonia. We send our deepest respects to the families and friends of the squadron, and we will be holding a memorial service at-" Finally her legs, trembling from the sudden heaviness of her thoughts whirling around in her head, broke beneath her. She dropped the letter beside her and covered her face in her hands, sobbing uncontrollably. Aerrow was by her side in an instant.

"Whats wrong? What happened?" he asked frantically, scared of what could have made his mother so upset.

"Is it about Daddy? What happened to Daddy?"

She lifted her head to look at her son, who stared back at her with wide eyes.

"It's nothing sweetheart..." she said with a choked sob. She dropped her face. She knew Aerrow didn't believe her. He was a smart kid.

And he didn't. He knew by the way his mother acted, that it wasn't nothing at all.

"Daddy's never coming back, is he?"

She lifted her head again to see her sons eyes filling with tears. She didn't know what to say. How could she? She couldn't even comfort herself.

So they cried together.

Very sad for my first story, no? Ah well. Reviews are appreciated! ^^
