One day...

Sonic the hedgehog was sitting on the banks of a small creek. He was singing a greek lullaby.

"I̱ agápi̱ eínai fo̱teiní̱
I̱ agápi̱ eínai to fo̱s
I̱ agápi̱ mou eínai mia skiá sti̱ nýchta

Goúna tou san mia seli̱niakí̱ ékleipsi̱ mésa sti̱ nýchta
Tou san éna roumpíni sto fo̱s tou í̱liou
Skiá mou eínai éna plásma pou kánei i̱ nýchta fo̱teiní̱," Sonic sang, splashing his feet in the water a little.

Little did our blue hero know, a pair of eyes like rubies were staring at him from deep in the forest. The person who those eyes belong to, stepped on a twig and broke it. The blue boy's ears twitched when he heard the twig snap. He spun around when whatever was snapping the twigs started getting closer.

"Whose there?" Sonic demanded.

"That was a pretty dong you sang, Sonikku. Mind translating it for me?" the voice said as the hedgie stepped into the sunlight.

"Shadow?" Sonic gasped, nearly falling backward into the small creek.

"Calm down, Sonic. I was able to manage translating some of that song. I know the second verse was about me," Shadow said, approaching Sonic as he spoke.

"N-No, it wasn't," Sonic said with a deep red blush.

"Tell me, Sonic. Do you love me?" Shadow asked as Sonic closed his eyes and folded his ears, his blush redder than ever.

"Yes," Sonic whispered.

"I feel the same way about you," Shadow said as he hugged Sonic close.

"I've always loved you," Sonic said.

"I've loved you since we first met. I just never had the guts to show or tell you how i felt," Shadow stated.

"Well, you don't have to be shy anymore," Sonic whispered before he kissed Shadow.
