A Sam/Andy fic.

...

Disclaimer: Nope, don't own Rookie Blue. (Can't wait for the next episode!)

...

A/N: Alright, I got the idea for this after Luke called Sam "Sammy" in the last episode.

Sorry I haven't posted as much today, I've been busy beta-ing for a few other authors.

I hope you guys like this one, I know I'll love writing it.

As always, please read and review, I live for feedback!

...

He completely and utterly detested being referred to as 'Sammy'. He was not a child, nor was he a little girl with pigtails and a lollipop. His name was Sam. Even to his mother, he was at most 'Samuel'.

When he'd first started at the 15th, some of the other officers and detectives had thought it was cute to try and tease him with a little 'Sammy' bit. He'd shown them the error of their ways.

Callaghan, though ... Callaghan hadn't gotten the message. He pulled it out every now and then, always in front of witnesses so that he could get away with it. Like he'd done with Andy a few days ago. Sam planned on paying him back for that, though ... retraining day was coming up, and he had a feeling that he would be making Detective Luke Callaghan his bitch.

But that was beside the point. He thought he'd made it clear to everyone that he knew that he was not to be called Sammy. Not ever. But, he was wrong. It appeared that Andy McNally hadn't gotten the message. She seemed to think it was a game now. Ever since Callaghan had called her Sammy, she had it in her head that he enjoyed it.

He didn't. He really and truly didn't.

So why hadn't he demanded that she stop it, yet? Why hadn't he done what he'd done with the other fools who had called him such a childish name? Sure, most of them had been men, so he hadn't had a problem using his 'strength' to do the talking for him ... maybe that was why it was different with Andy. He doubted it, but he would much rather that be his excuse, than the one that was constantly assaulting the back of his mind in a whiny, hissing voice. "It's 'cause you want her. She could call you anything she likes, as long as you got to have her."

He hated the stupid voice. He wanted to pound the vocal powers right out of it. But it was getting harder and harder to deny the truths to what it was saying. He thought about her more than he should, he grew closer to her than he had any rookie in the past. He watched her more closely, to be sure that she didn't get into trouble - which was a full time job all on its own.

What had she done that made her so special? She'd completely destroyed his undercover career, along with a career-making bust that would have seriously crippled the drug scene in Toronto. She'd damn near broken a few ribs when she'd tackled him to the ground that day. Maybe ... was that it? She was the only girl who'd ever taken him down? He hoped that wasn't it ... he was dysfunctional enough as it was, without the added benefit of falling for his rookie.

Still ... for some reason, he didn't hate it when she called him 'Sammy'. He was actually - not that he would EVER admit it to anyone - starting to grow fond of the way his name slithered from her mouth, and the way her lips pressed together ever-so-briefly when she said it.

...

The end.

Well, what did you guys think? Like it, hate it?

Reviews are appreciated, flame if you must, but constructive criticism is much more useful.

Until next time ...!
