Hello everyone! This is my first fic I have ever written so no flames please. This story is a collection of Pertemis (Percy x Artemis) one shots, starting off with a Christmas story. Inspiration of the first story came from PrincessOfTheSeas' 'Under the Mistletoe' Pertemis fanfic. Tell me in your review what you think of it! Also I do not own Percy Jackson (sadly). All rights belong to Rick Riordan.
Chapter 1: Underneath The Mistletoe
From the moment I laid eyes upon her at Westover Hall I had always admired the beautiful silver eyed goddess Artemis. As my fellow Olympians danced and laughed and drank and generally made fools out of themsleves, she just sat their with a bored expression on her was Christmas time and even though it is a Christian thing, the gods celebrated what the mortals deemed fun. Ah yes, I almost forgot. The great and mighty Hero of Olympus is a god now, hooray! But what about Annabeth? That Athena-Spawn is dead to me, after she led me on for three years then cheated on me with some Aphrodite boy as I was about to propose to her.
Flashback:
I had just got back to camp after a quest given to me by Athena for her approval of me marrying Annabeth. I went to the beach and found Annabeth making out with some kid. I felt so angry, so betrayed that the weather started picking up on my anger. Wind roared around us making an intense hurricane, lightning flashed in the balck clouds and the sea started ruthlessly battering the shore. Annabeth jumped off the boy in surprise and looked at me with wide, fearful eyes.
"Percy, i-it's not w-what it l-looks like!" Annabeth stammered.
"THEN WHAT IS IT!" I yelled at her, as the wind picked up to massive speeds.
"I FELL INTO TARTARUS WITH YOU! I FOUGHT TWO WARS WITH YOU! WHEN I BATHED IN THE STYX, YOU WERE MY MORTAL POINT! I-I was going to propose to you!" I finished weakly, holding the ring out in front of her.
She gasped, tears coming out of her eye as she did so.
"I-I please take me back Percy, I'm sorry I thought you were cheating-" she blubbered.
"I don't care. We're through, Chase. You were right. Children of Poseidon and Athena don't mix after all" I said bitterly. I threw the ring at her and stormed off to my cabin, leaving Annabeth sobbing on the beach behind me."
Flashback End
Anyway, I had left camp for a few years, living in the wilderness and guiding demigods to Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter and occasionally sending girls to the hunters. In recognition of my deeds, the gods offered me godhood again and this time I had nothing to lose, so I accepted. Artemis was in her 20 year old form right now and she looked absolutely stunning. Her lush auburn hair looked so soft and silky, her silvery dress hugged her curves in all the right places and her brilliant silver eyes were as enchanting as ever. She looked so sexy and- whoa. Stop right there brain, those are bad thoughts which will get you turned into a fuzzy little animal. But as much as I tried, I couldn't fight off the attraction I had for her. Hestia came up to me and noticed me staring which made her smile with amusement.
"Go talk to her Perseus" she said.
"I can't. I'll make a fool of myself. She's the man-hating goddess of MAIDENS Aunt Hestia. I'll probably die." I replied, blushing in embarrassment. Her smile only grew.
"I don't think she hates men; I think she is just being cautious." Hestia said.
"She had her heart broken a couple of times, didn't she?" I said, nodding in realisation.
"Like Orion and a couple of other incidents right?"
"Correct Perseus. You are smarter than you look."
I blushed and walked over to Artemis - but not before downing my glass of wine. I sat next to her as she absently sipped her wine.
"Hello Perseus"
"Hello Artemis. Having fun?" I said trying to not to act foolish in front of her.
"No. No one comes up to me. The gods all go to another goddess who they know will go with them." She replied sighing.
"Well, I think those gods are idiots." I blurted out, cursing myself for my stupidity.
"Why?" She asked curiously.
"Because... they are missing out on the chance to woo the lovely moon goddess!" I said thinking quickly, blushing red as I realised what I had said.
Artemis smiled "Yes, you are wiser than people make you out to be."
There was a brief moment of silence before I asked "You like to dance don't you?"
"What?" She said
"I said you like to dance. You always stare at the dance floor so longingly, but no one asks you too because they're too lazy to do it."
"So, uh, would you like to do me the honour of dancing with you, Artemis?"
"And are you not afraid?" She asked.
"Of what?" I asked, confused
"Of me... Artemis the man hater." She said
"I don't think you actually hate men." At this she cocked her head at me. "I think you're just being cautious after having your heart broken a couple of times. So, I ask again, will you dance with me?" I asked nervously.
"You are the first man to ask me in years, of course I will." She replied with a smile on her face.
I took her hand and we walked over do the dance floor. As we danced, people stared at us, their mouths agape. I shot them a 'You didn't have the guts to ask her' look and continued dancing. After the song had ended, Artemis put her head next to my ear and whispered "Thank you for dancing with me. More importantly, thank you for having the guts to come up and talk with me." A tingle went down my spine as I felt her warm bbreath on my neck. We sat back down on some couches and started talking about our adventures.
"So you threw a piece of coral at it, and it worked?" She asked disbelievingly.
"Yep, it just fell over!" I said, laughing as I recounted a ridiculous way I had defeated a monster during my travels.
Inwardly, I was very pleased I had made her laugh. Gods were still staring at us, with their mouths open.
"So what happened to that girlfriend of yours, Percy?"
My smile faded and I told her the whole story
"I'm so sorry, she is an embarrassment to women, acting like a male." Artemis said, placing her hand on mine. I blushed at the sudden contact.
"It's fine, I got over her. She wanted me back as soon as I became an Olympian because I was back on top." I said.
"Well look, someone's jealous." Artemis said slyly, looking I over to the side. Annabeth was there, glaring at our hands together.
"Wow, can't she accept me talking to another women? It's not like I'm with her anymore." I growled.
"Well how about we make her so jealous she stays out of your way?" Artemis smirked.
"Put your arm around me." She whispered
I blushed but obliged, putting my arm around her shoulders.
"Your so funny Perseus!" She giggled
"Well you're a great listener. My ex never listened." I said in a loud voice.
"You're so much sexier than her and way cooler." This had the desired effect and Annabeth stormed away in anger.
I removed my arm from Artemis' shoulders and started laughing with her.
"Oh my gods did you see her face!" I said, laughing.
"It was hilarious Perseus, I wish I had a camera." She replied, giggling.
I abruptly stood up.
"Where are you going?"
"Getting some champagne."
"Trying to get me drunk Perseus?"
"What? No! I-I was just go-" I stammered, my face red as a tomato.
"I'm kidding, I can joke too you know!" She said.
I went and got the bottle and sat back down with her.
She materialised a knife in her hand and I said "Trying to kill me?" jokingly.
"No! I thought we established tha-"
"It was just a joke Moon Beam." I replied.
She glared at me then proceeded to send the cork flying out the bottle with her knife.
I poured two glasses and gave one to Artemis.
"What shall we toast to?" She wondered.
"How about to a Merry Christmas?" I suggested.
"That's so cliche" She giggles,
"Okay, how about to and AMAZING night!" I said.
"THAT'S more like it."
We clinked our glasses together and drank our champagne. After we finished it was time for gifts so we headed over to the huge tree in the middle of the room. I gave out all my gifts except one for Artemis. I gave it to her and when she opened it her eyes widened.
"Thank you Perseus!" She exclaimed.
I had got Hephaestus to make a bow pendant entirely of out of silver and glittering diamonds. Artemis put it on and hugged me, much to my and everyone else's surprise.
After Zeus had made his long, dull speech Artemis and I walked out together. Suddenly, the room fell silent as everyone stared at me. A few gods wolf whistled and I glared at the until I saw Aphrodite squealing and jumping up and down and pointing at something above us. I looked up and paled. Above us was... "Mistletoe." Artemis said, puzzled to as why it was a such a big deal. Shouts of "Kiss her!" and "Come on, it's tradition!" echoed throughout the room. "Care to enlighten me on this tradition Perseus?" Artemis asked.
"Well, when two people are under the Mistletoe, they have to, um, well kiss." I stuttered.
"This is tradition you say?" She said slyly. I nodded.
She put a finger under my chin flirtatiously and lifted my gaze to meet her's. Before I even knew what was happening, we both leaned in and our lips collided. Her lips were so soft and gentle but we eventually deepened the kiss. Sadly, we had to break apart. "Wow." Was all I could manage.
"Goodbye, Perseus." She said and with a seductive wink, she turned and left.
"What just happened?" I thought aloud.
"You just made out with the Goddess of maidens and virginity, that's what happened!" A minor god shouted.
"Alright everyone, go back to what you were doing, NOW!" Apollo shouted.
As everyone dispersed and went back to what they were doing, I was left just standing there, wondering if that kiss meant anything other than just tradition.
Little did I know Artemis was thinking the exact same thing.
So there you have it, my first chapter of my first story. I really suck at endings. Love it, hate it tell me what you think in your review. I'll update soon!
