Well today's episode left me in quite the emotional state.
I don't own House of Anubis.
"Nina," Amber uttered the last word, her heart twisting and turning. She had to fight back the urge to keel over and let her cake visit the floor.
At that moment, everything went blank. Amber couldn't hear anything, all she knew was Fabian sat crying on Nina's empty bed and Joy came it. She didn't know if words were exchanged, she didn't know if she'd said anything herself. She got up and walked out the door, doing her best not to fall over.
Quickly, she slipped into the bathroom. Her hands shook as the fumbled with the door's lock.
"Nina," Amber croaked, no longer holding back the tears. Her back slammed against the wall, her entire body sliding to the floor moments later.
Well, this was it. Nina was gone. Her best friend, never to come back. But you know, why does it matter what she felt? It was totally just Fabian who would be upset. Totally. Because he and Nina were best friends and dating. So, Amber should be fine, after all, she and Nina were only best friends.
Amber felt bad for thinking this, but she couldn't help it. Everyone had been so concerned for Fabian when they found out, which they should have been: Fabian was a complete emotional wreck. But it was apparent that nobody was worried about Amber missing her best friend.
So, she did what she was best at: putting on a smile and faking it. She'd done it through her entire life, so this was just one more time, right? And now, she had to be there for Fabian. She put on the act for her birthday, letting her true colors show only when she figured they'd forgotten her feelings once more by dismissing her birthday. The surprise had raised her spirits, but the letter brought them right back down.
"Keep calm, Millington," she whispered to herself, wiping her eyes roughly. "Stay cool. Do it for Fabian...do it for Nina..."
She let herself sulk for a few more minutes, but eventually rose and took off her make and went to bed. She found the room empty and the letter on her bed. She slowly tucked it under her pillow, wanting to keep it close but out of her sight.
As she tucked herself in that night, a small tear rolled down her cheek, obviously having missed the previous flow.
"Goodnight, Nina," she whispered, almost inaudible, as her hand reached under the pillow to brush the letter. "We miss you."
A/N: that was so messy oh my god I'm sorry I'm just really upset right now about how they didn't carry Amber's feelings out well and how distraught Fabian is and how everything hurts okay night.
