It wasn't supposed to happen this way. Queenie had imagined falling in love plenty of times; she'd talked to Tina about it over and over, although her sister mostly just rolled her eyes in exasperation. Queenie knew there was a romantic in Tina somewhere; she just had to meet the right man first.

But, well, that wasn't the point. The point was, whilst Queenie had imagined all kinds of love stories for herself, none of them had ever gone quite like this. Oh, several had involved a No-Maj sweeping her off her feet and stealing her away - there was something enticing about breaking the law - but it had all happened so quickly, and Jacob was… Well. Jacob was Jacob.

She wondered if Tina would disapprove of the way she kept going back to Jacob. In her heart, she knew that it would be fine, but still a lingering doubt remained that maybe she would call her a fool or tell her that she had to break it off. Tina loved her, Queenie knew that, and only wanted the best for her, but even so…

She couldn't help it though. She wanted Jacob desperately; Queenie never even knew she could want someone as much as she did Jacob. He was kind and sweet and understanding, and he had some sort of magnetism about him that kept pulling her back to his side. Like the universe was telling them that, No-Maj or not, the two of them were meant to be.

So she went to his shop - went to him - every day, watched him smile as he sold his breads and cakes and pastries to customers. And when he saw her, when recognition finally sparked in his eyes, Queenie felt her heart leap in her chest, and she knew that she had fallen completely and wholly in love with this man.

Perhaps this wasn't how her love story was supposed to go, but she knew that it was meant to be, and she silently swore that nothing would ever pull them apart again.
