This is a little story I wrote during third period today. I liked it and I thought yall would too. Please review and tell me what ya think. **************************************************************************** * The young Peregrin Took ran through the tall corn stalks as fast as he could considering he was carrying a large amount of stolen food for a nine year old hobbit such as himself. Looking behind him to see if he was still being chased cause him to not see the corn stalk that inevitably sent him sprawling to the ground.

"I've got you now!" his pursuer yelled. Merry Brandybuck ran up to his fallen cousin and placed his foot on the chest of the young hobbit. "Next time I catch you stealing food I rightly stole, you wont get off as easily." he half threatened, then bending down he extended his hand to Pippin, who took it gratefully and then dusted himself off.

"I'm sorry Mer, please don't be mad." the young hobbit whimpered.

"I'm not mad, I'm quite surprised you managed to get this far." he replied, scruffing up Pippin's hair.

"Come back here you thieving little sneaks! The next time I catch you I'm gonna let my dogs after you!" Farmer Maggot yelled, waving his scythe around.

"Pip, RUN!" Merry cried, shoving the smaller bag into Pippin's hands. The youngster ran as fast as his legs could carry him to the secret spot that he was told to go to incase something like this happened. Merry took the heavier bag and ran after his little cousin, trying his best to keep after him.

When Pippin reached the dense woods he ran to the center where a hollowed out tree had stood for ages. He threw his bag inside and crawled in after it to wait for Merry.

"Pip?" his cousin called a few minutes later.

"I'm here Merry, in the Tree." he replied, sticking out his tiny head.

"Well, what'd you think Pip? Were you scared?" his cousin asked, sitting beside the tree, catching his breath.

"No it wasn't scary! It was exciting Merry! When can we do it again?" he asked as he crawled out the tiny hole at the bottom.

"Not for a while, we don't want to get caught, remember we have to wait until old Maggot forgets about it. Then we can go again, until then we can always pilfer the Kitchens." he replied.

"Ok, I understand. I wouldn't want to be chased by his dogs, we might get eaten and my mom wouldn't be too happy about that. And the food it better from the kitchens, they've got sweets in there." he said, his mouth watering at the thought. "Show me what you got huh?" Merry said and Pip took out the small pillow sack bulging with food.

They walked back to The Great Smials and hour later, their sacks lighter and their stomachs heavier.

"Exactly where was it the both of you were all day!?" Eglantine Took cried, pulling her child into her arms and checking for hurts.

"Mama, we had a picnic is all. Nothin happened, honest. I'm ok." Pippin said as he tried to squirm out of her grasp.

"Hhmmm, well, you don't look hurt. Alright, I believe you, now go wash up, dinners ready." she replied, pushing the both of them in the direction of the wash rooms.

That night, as Pippin lay in bed, Merry came in and tucked him in. "Sleep tight Pip, I'll see you in the morning."

"Thank you Mer." he replied as he dropped off to sleep.

Pippin woke with a jolt, feeling grass underneath him. He turned and saw Merry and smiled, but stopped when he saw the bloody gash on his forehead and he remembered what had happened. He couldn't help at cry at the memories that came unbidden to him during his capture with the orcs.
