A mid winter's breeze started to frost over a police cruiser windshield as two mammals bickered idly in the front seats. A very typical start to a typical work day for the two small officers.

"Listen Carrots. All I'm saying is that maybe you are so high strung is because you are too busy chasing down speeding sloths and putting tickets on parked cars to find a boyfriend?"

The smug fox ended his speech by lowering his shades down the tip of his snout in order to gage his partners hilarious reaction and a hilarious reaction she gave without fail.

Judy sprayed her coffee all over the frosted windshield as his words hit her blind spot that no one but her family dared to venture in fact the little bunny who had been well composed and cool had been reduced to a sputtering blubbering mess as she fumbled for a reply.

"I - I so am not high strung and adding a romantic relationship to my life would not calm anything down."

The more she talked the lower her tone got and had Nick not been a fox he probably wouldn't heard her at all.

Fishing out a napkin from his side door the red fox pawed over the napkin to the gray little bunny who slowly took hold of it and went about unbuckling her seatbelt at the same time.

"Carrots." Nick said in a soft manner while laying a paw on hers that was on the unbuckle button. The action made her freeze up more than her coffee that was on the windshield.

Nick went on since he had the upper paw, "maybe we should take a vacation?"

Thump Thump

Judys heart thumped wildly in her chest. The thought of her partner of the past two years asking her out on a normal day like today made her mind go blank.

"We could take a nice cruise down the waterways of the Rainforest." Nick said nonchalantly.

Thump Thump

Judys heart beat in her chest loudly again. The touch of his paw on hers felt like the warmest kindest thing in the world and a deep blush was creeping up into her ears the more she pictured the two of them getting to know each other as a couple.

"I know a guy down in Central. He can get us tickets to the singles love cruise by the end of the week and then it will be you me and twenty other single mammals for you to try and get lucky with."

Thump

Her heart came to a sudden halt as her ears took in all that he said and pieced two and two together. He wasn't asking her out. He wanted to be her wingmammal.

Pushing on the seat belt button and closing her eyes she steeled her heart once more and slapped his paw away then preceded to stand up and wipe down the windshield so she could get back to work and forget about Nick and his ideas. However the fox had one more card to play as he yawned loudly while acting like this was just another Monday.

"We could always hook up if you don't find anyone willing to take your paw on the boat. Atho with that cute fuzzy wuzzy little tail of yours i'm sure someone will come along." He said while checking her out.

Her reaction this time was better than the first curveball he had thrown at her. Maybe she thought he wasn't interested and that getting him back was the next best thing. She found herself doing something she never thought she would do to her partner.

She flicking her little cottontail provocatively back at him as she wiped the rest of the window and turned around confidently while putting her paws on her hips.

"You want to hook up with me?" Judy loudly asked.

Her bold callus words made the slick fox look right back at her without blinking. His poker face was years ahead of hers and at that moment he moved his paw up to her furry little face and gently dragged one finger down her cheek and along her side only to take hold of the damp wet napkin from her now trembling paw while he replied in a rather sensual tone.

"Are you saying that miss super cop would be willing to add street hustler to her list of romantic mammals?"

The blushing bunny looked away as she sat back down in her seat and turned on the heat full blast to thaw out the windows as she mulled over an answer.

Minutes ticked by and just as Nick was about to make a joke and call the whole thing off Judy piped up.

"I wont mind. As long as no one else on this boat of yours sweeps me off my feet that is."

Her smugly smile made him laugh and love her even more than he already did and without responding Nick had pulled out his phone and was texting his buddy eager to put his plan into motion of asking his partner out.

Judy took that moment to drive them back to the station for the rest of their shift. They had been out in the cold for hours and no one was going to be speeding around tundra area but as she pulled up to the stop sign a familiar red car bolted past the duo.

The sudden jolt from Judy stopping fast caused Nick to fumble with his phone and as he retrieved it from the floor Judy stepped on the gas and flipped on the siren. The process sent his head flying into the dash.

Thump!

"A little heads up first Carrots!"

Nick groaned out as he rubbed his head only to feel the car come to a halt and see the red car pulled over in front of them. He was about to complement her when he felt her lovely paws massaging his injured forehead making the poor vulpines mind go blank.
