They both knew that this day would eventually come, and they would have to make this decision.

Horatio stood there, gun raised at their suspect. He had taken Calleigh as a human shield, Horatio had to make a decision, and fast.

There was no telling what this psycho could do.

One false move, and it could all be over.

She stood there, as calm as possible, her body never gave away what she was feeling, but those bluey green/grey eyes did.

She was scared as hell.

Every time that someone made a move, the guy holding Calleigh hostage would flinch, and grip the gun tighter.

Scenario's flashed before him.

Calleigh lying on the ground covered in blood, her surviving, and a whole lot of others.

But there was one that he was afraid of thinking.

Calleigh being put into a cold black body bag.

That was what really scared him.

He didn't want to leave that warehouse without Calleigh in his arms, walking along beside him.

He didn't care what anyone else thought.

This was their wake-up call, their time to announce it to the world that they were in love.

They had hidden it for so long, and it would be their time.

But he didn't want to leave without her, his angel.

He looked into her eyes once again, but what he found there shocked him.

Tears.

He saw the unshed tears in her eyes, the last time that he had seen that was when Speedle had been shot and killed.

He remembered seeing Calleigh leaning up against her locker in the changing room, unshed tears in her eyes.

He remembers wrapping his arms around her petite form, and then she buried her head into his chest, as the sobs wracked her body.

He held her until her sobs subsided.

Back at the present, he saw something flicker across her eyes.

That message was almost his undoing.

He looked into her eyes again, silently asking if that's what she wanted.

She did.

He squeezed the trigger.

The bullet launched itself at its target.

She let out a small cry of pain as the bullet ripped through her shoulder and into their suspects heart.

They both fell to the ground, and Horatio ran over to where they had fallen.

He took their suspects gun and checked for a pulse.

None, he was dead.

He ran over to where Calleigh was sitting up against some crates, holding her shoulder, the crimson liquid seeping through her fingers.

She told him that she was fine.

He helped her up off the ground and out of the warehouse to an awaiting ambulance.

He stayed by her side the whole time.

Now they had a big decision that could cost them their careers.

Their jobs or their relationship?

Now it's their time to choose.
