It was at that moment, staring into his deep, hypnotizing eyes, that I realized what we had was more than the close friendship we'd been fooling ourselves into thinking it was – that I realized he was the perfect one for me, always had been.

"Gir?" he asked hesitantly, and I looked up, hoping the intense passion didn't burn in my eyes like it felt they were, "I gots you a cupcake."

A CUPCAKE! Can you believe it? He got me a cupcake! Sigh... he's so romantic.

"Oh, Piggy," I gushed, barely disguising my love, "Thank you so much! Let's ride off in the sunse-" I cut off as his eyes widened and he stared at me, looking almost... afraid? "I'll just eat the cupcake now. CUPCAKE!" I shrieked, trying to restore myself to my normal personality.

I ran into the house I shared with Zim and hid under the couch.

... I found a taco. It had some mold on it.

... I ate it.

"Gir? Gir?! GIR?!?!" It was Piggy. Oh, no, what was I going to do?

Well, it turned out I was going to run out from my hiding place and throw myself into Piggy's waiting arms, completely involuntarily.

I heard footsteps behind me, but I was too caught up in our embrace to notice.

"What is going on here?" Zim's voice pierced the perfect silence, and Piggy and I reluctantly pulled away from each other.

"Gir and I are in love!" Piggy blurted, then blushed, since, well, we hadn't actually decided that yet, but I took his hand – well... hoof – in mine to reassure him.

"What is this nonsense? This cannot happen!" Zim said, disapproval clear in his tone. "I disapprove!"

"WE don't need your approval!" I argued, "We're going to ride off in the sunset together!"

And we did, and we lived happily ever after.
