Kirstin: Oh hush; don't make me sic Chaos on you.

Prologue: Dingdong your grandpas dead

I pulled off the left side of my headphones as I stepped off the boat onto the dock, waving my thanks to the old shipmaster as he turned his ship about and set sail for the other side of the ocean from whence he and I came. I turned around and jumped, coming face to face with the top of a red top hat. There was a coughing sound, like a muffled "ahem". I looked down, meeting kind black eyes that peered up at me through glasses.

The man stuck out his hand to me, offering his handshake.

"Names Thomas, I'm the Mayor of Flower Bud Village. I knew your Grandfather well."

"Ah! Uhm, names Jack, nice to meet you."

I took his hand and shook it, pulling my headphones fully off my head to hand round my neck. As the waves broke on the shore bellow the dock an awkward silence remained above between the two of us. He coughed again, turning round and waddling away on his short stubby legs. I blinked.

"Come along, the processions have already begun back in town."

I nodded stupidly, even though he had his back to me. Hoisting the bag on my back to a more comfortable position followed the short man, idly wondering if he was related to a penguin or a kappa.

This was the beginning of my very odd adventure with the little farm town of Flower Bud Village.

Last word: Jeesh, what a short beginning, I promise the actual chapters will be longer.
