Right this is my first ever fanfiction so don't expect it to be fantastic. I would really appreciate a Beta so any volunteers? Any way, enjoy and please review!

Malfoy, a name that often brought fear into people's hearts, Alex stuck to this tradition. The tall first year stood in the corridor of the train table looking cool and relaxed. He carefully brushed his short brown hair behind his ear and smiled a cool white smile.

Although this boy did not look like his father or half sister, he certainly had inherited their misty grey eyes, cool and calm. He never talked about his mother, however, he expected his hair had come from her, thick and a deep chocolate brown, a disgrace to his family. With her would he even be in Slytherin? Well she was a muggle that couldn't cause problems, could it? He wondered whether it could. He looked around for the girls in the Slytherin girls compartments. Kara was in Slytherin, surely he would be too.

He stood at the door and Kara waved him inside, yet, he passed on her invitation and began to traipse further down the corridor. He walked into an empty compartment, threw his trunk to the floor and sat down. He put his feet on a trunk and stared out of the window. He supposed it could be worse, he could be stuck in a compartment with a load of mud bloods…

The journey passed quickly, and after changing into his smart black robes he eagerly jumped off the train and queued up with the other first years. During the boat trip he was calm and relaxed, sharing a boat with several of his peers, they were, of course pure bloods.

Soon, with thanks too the cool calm weather, they reached the bank and stumbled out, heading into the huge castle that would be their home for the next seven years.

"Malfoy, Alexander Kherron." The Professor called. Pushing his way through the crowd of first years he rubbed his hands down his robes. He took his place on the stool.

"A half blood Malfoy, um, something I never thought I would see, certainly strange."

Alex heard mumbling around the room, he looked up for Kara, hopefully she wouldn't hate him. "Well then, I see you have your fathers knack for the dark arts, however, there is something else in there. I'm not sure, for once I am baffled, but I have to make a decision so it had better be…"

Sorry to leave you in suspense but… oh well. I'll update when I get 5 reviews.
