Memory

Miroku's POV

Within my life I met several girls but I met one that stole my heart forever. She was as strong as any man and took shit from no one. She fought with as much strenght as Inuyasha or I. She always show a smile after the battle was won. Battle after battle we came closer and closer to winning this war agianst the evil force of Naraku. As the days and battles came and went I fell deeper and deeper in love. Even though I didn't show my feeling in a tolerable fashion. I thought she understood what I had been trying to tell her.

I knew that closer we came to the end and soon we would all be free from the curse that the demon held over us; me, my Kanaaza, Sango, her little brother, InuYasha, revenge; that we would go our seperate ways The three of us fight for freedom over our lives once more. Once the war was one I thought Sango and I would finally understand eachother. Sadly my wish was left in the dust as Sango and her brother left our ranks to returm to their village. Their goal had been met and now they leave our group to begin life anew. I grow older and have married knowing that Sango will never return to me. I still love her and will continue to do so till my death.

Sango's POV

As I look upon the sunrise I think of that houshi that I loved. What did he do with his life? Did he ever marry? or .. as I do not hope, Is he dead? None of my questions are answered. I hear the soft pad of feet upon the wooden floor and turn to see my neice. She holds her arms out to me silently asking from me to pick her up. She faces me and and asks in her small voice "Aunty Sango, tell me the story of your travels once more."

I start my story from the beginning, with the legend of the Shikon no tama; Kikyo, Inuyasha and Kagome. Then I spead to tell her of her grandfather and the other villagers. As I explain the horrific details of how they all had been slewn by the demon who had decieved Kikyo and Inuyasha. Her eyes grow wide as I continue the tale. When I finished she asks "What happened to the houshi who you loved"

Instantly tears spring in my eyes. "He didn't love me back" I whispered the tears flow silently down my checks. "So I left him"

Young Tohru wipes them away and whispers to me, "You should have told him your feelings." Little does she know that as everyday passes I wish the same thing.
