Hello!
I am the original author of "Crushed Roaches and Swatted Flies" (i.e. Acedia's Apathetic Simplicity - ugh, awkward teenage me). I know. I know. I haven't updated since 2012. I had decided, at the time, to focus more on my studies instead slowly -without realizing it - "abandoned" all my works. Even the ones on my other not-so-newer-now profile. I was buried in work and studies. My life has been extremely stressful these days and have had too many problems that aren't going to be discussed ever as I am not looking for pity. This isn't an excuse, but rather an explanation as to why I haven't updated.
Despite my lame ass explanation, there is good news!
Writing, I have noticed, is my ultimate stress relief so I started writing again. And as it so happens, I was having a discussion with a friend of mine about this specific about my 5-year abandonment. We were discussing about how to go about writing: action scenes, character development, and developing love. And as I described my difficulties on ability to write love in a concrete and organic manner without characters acting too OOC. I had a break through!
I started working on it immediately. And I like how it is shaping out. My writing style has changed a bit and I found my previous narrative to be a bit on the dry side riddled with typos.
So I will be posting soon. That I no longer have access to the older profile, I will be posting on this profile instead. Once I have finished writing and editing my new version it will be posted here and this notice will be replaced with it. If you have any question or wish for a small unedited sneak-peak please send me a PM and I will do so as an apology for my long absence u.u That is if any of my readers (and/or people who stumbled on to my fic during it's abandonment status) are still silently hoping for an update.
Formly AAS, Now SIG
PS: I wrote this notice on my phone. Please forgive my typos, my phone has a small screen and these letters are really small. My eye sight has gone to hell... I'm getting old ;-;
PSS: the title might also change a bit.
SMALL EXCERPT ENJOY :) OCT-29-2017, unedited Work In-Progress
Seventeenth century Europe saw a time of innovation in a global scale. Great things were happening across the board, yes great…but not necessarily good. Great in the manner of human discoveries, cries of equality, and other such ideas that would carry on into the later centuries that would help build up to modern day society.
But for a young man by the name of Carlisle, everything was great in the grand scale of death. Constant looming deaths of innocents through the righteous God-fearing men. And he, the son of pastor, helped to deliver divine judgement. His heart always in steady stream of unrest, constantly questioning whether he and his father were in the right to do these acts of righteous judgement. By the time he reached the ripe age of three and twenty, he was leading the hunt for supposed evil entities with his soul twisting in indecision.
Awaiting him in death, he knows, is the outside looming teasing entrance of limbo – forever out of reach.
Carlisle's lips twist ironically, this, he thinks, must be the vestibule. Hidden to the human eye. Where are the wasps? The blood, the flesh-eating maggots?
Carlisle's fingers dig into his arms as his red-red-red eyes stare into the black beady eyes of a small nose-twitching creature.
Empty, bottomless hunger pounds into his skull as he knows…he knows of precious food source not the far away from his hideout.
