Rapture…

A city where freedom was guaranteed with nothing more than a signature. A city far from the shores of the democracy that I had grown up in, a place where utopia would reign and the thoughts of responsibilities and fear would be nothing more than distant memories.

That was years ago.

Today, Rapture is nothing more than a festering, rotting corpse underneath the ocean, where the citizens run rampant and addicted to ADAM to the point they'd kill for it.

Whatever happened to my vision…?

My vision was to create a world where one would happy; instead, I unintentionally created a mad world the likes of which are unrivaled.

This is not how I wanted my life to end, miserable and alone, but fate deals a harsh hand in life, and I found myself betting it all for nothing.

Sofia Lamb is now the leader of my city, her religious banter to the countless Splicers have brainwashed them into literally look up to her as a god of some kind. Fools.

My beautiful city is gone, yet my infamous legacy will remain.

My day of reckoning is fast approaching, literally outside my door. My son will be here soon, no doubt to take my life. Atlas will see to it that he gets the job done. Yet, I will neither run nor hide.

My only regret is the Little Sisters. Tannebaum was right all along, it was a rather useless and inhumane thing to do to the little girls, how many parents did we rob of their precious little children just for the sake of our utopia? Maybe this is just part of my fate and the consequences that came with it.

I wish that things would have been different, but no matter, I will deal with my fate as a man.

I, Andrew Ryan, will stand tall and proud, and die as Rapture's soul sinks into the abyss of history.
