Among the population of Britain there were few thoughts toward Little Whinging, Surrey a seemingly unimportant place so dull it was barely on the map. Most thought of the place as simply another small place in Britain full of ordinary people living ordinary lives. Others in a small secret society of magic uses did not think of it at all and if they did it would be with scorn and disdain or superiority for those that they believed were less them for not having what they believed to be their birthright. So to one old wizard it was the perfect place to put one important piece of a prophecy safe till it was time to play his part.
It was a regular event in the Dursley's house that Dudley would often break his toys soon after he got them, he would then throw a temper tantrum and get new ones. It was also regular event the Harry Potter would be forced to do work for the Dursley. Thus this lead to a six year old Harry Potter putting Dudley's now old computer with a small creak in the screen into the fourth bedroom the new game he recently received unplayed by Dudley. In one life Harry would put the computer away then go into the garden out of the way like he didn't exist as Petunia and Vernon would have him do when they did not have some task for him, he would go one to be steadily beaten down shaped as a tool to be used by those who had abandoned him. In this life however Harry saw the game icon one screen and decided to break the Dursley's rules about playing with Dudley's old toys and play a computer game for once in his life, the game was called Geneforge.
That night inside of his cupboard Harry thought about the game he had played on the computer earlier. To create new life, creations that would be by his side as companies and serve him, after all it's not like he was able to have any friends. Swiping at his eyes to remove the slight witness that had entered his eyes. He had learnt that crying would never get him anything real from the Dursley in fact it would often make things worse. As he thought about he grew more and more intrigued shaping life was like making friends expect these ones would not be cased off by the Dursleys, that would never rebuke or disappoint him because he controlled them. That night when he fell asleep still thinking shaping new life, he did so with a smile for once thoughts of loyal friends comforting him, and in the darkness of his mind a spark of ambition arose a small thought that repeated itself "why not".
The next week would see that the seed of ambition that planted in his mind grow and in his mind Harry found a role model of how to act and what to strive for, knowledge and control, control over one's mind, body and what you create. The following months showed Harry practising for his ambition with his new actions. In the night Harry would resight numbers that he had written down during the day to train his mind in memorising information the progress was slow but there was always more time and graderaly he learnt.
In the public school libery in an out of the way corner the page turned and reached the end of the book. After taking a moment to make sure it was mesmerised correctly Harry stood up to put the book "How Science Works" back in its place. Harry smiled everything seemed easier now that he had a goal to go towards, to take control over himself and learn how to create new wonderful creations. However it would be a long time till he was able make mighty creations, science would need to be improved quite a lot and magic if it existed was currently hidden from the world. Still this after all was only the beginning.
