This is the story of what happened between Magnus and Alec in the Hall of Accords when people weren't looking. I obviously own nothing of this except the majority of the story line. It is all Cassandra Clare's. Please and R&R even though you might have read a bunch of others just like it. If I get positive feedback I will try to write the fics of the other loose ends that Clare leaves.
City of Confessions: Alec and Magnus"Magnus! Magnus," Alec ran over and grabbed the warlock's hand, "Magnus, have you found a partner to fight beside yet?"
" No, and you?"
"Well," panted Alec, his search for Magnus through the hoards of anxious and excited nephilim and downworlders having tired him, "I was hoping it would be you."
Magnus looked taken aback, "But Alec, I don't want you to cause yourself trouble. You don't have to prove yourself to me; I'll be here for you even if you can't tell your parents. I understand how your kind are. I know that they are uncomfortable around us, and that you aren't supposed to be like you are. I've been around nephilim for many more years than you've been alive and I assure you, I understand that they just aren't…"
Magnus' words were stopped short by Alec's two front fingers, "Mag, Don't worry, I came to partner with you in a battle in which I very well might die. First, though, I would like to hear you say it again."
"Say what?" questioned Magnus, his eyes awash with confusion.
"That you love me."
"Alec… Alec, you already know how I feel about you, please don't do this to me."
" Just say it. Please." Alec's eyes were sincere and he looked deeply into Magnus's. The warlock's eyes fell and his body collapsed. The words barley escaped his lips and after a choked noise he clearly said, "I Love You."
As nephilim fingers lifted the chin of a downworlder with a caress rarely seen in such a cruel world the warlock's eyes connected again with the eyes created by the risen angel. The warlock's defeated eyes twinkled in the luminescence of the hall. Alec smiled, completely undone by the words. In less than a second his fingers had wrapped in Magnus's spiked hair and pulled his head into his own. The two rose to their toes with a kiss more fervent than Alec knew he was capable of feeling.
Alec thought of repeating Magnus' words, but thought better of it. Some things are best shown and not told.
As they pulled apart Alec glanced toward where his parents stood. His mother was simply shining; trying hard to hide any part of her exuberance and completely failing. She was squeezing and swinging the arm of her rigid and confused husband. As Ales looked back toward Magnus he heard, "Come on Robert, did you see him glow? Really now, its not like you didn't know."
Magnus was clearly unsure, " I, I don't think your father is very happy."
Alec beamed, uncaring. "Did you see the way she looked at me? At us? She still loves me. They love me. They knew and it didn't change anything. They still love me.
