HOLY YEESH! I just re-watched Season 1 Episode 19 and I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME get over the LOOKS Sasha is giving Summer.
Like WHOA!
Neil Jackson is GOOD…very, very, very good.
Anyway, it inspired the writing of this.
Enjoy, Alliecat103 & ForeverAwestruck239
(P.S. sorry for the shortness!)
He had come to visit.
When he walked in, he realized that they were giggling again and he was sick of it.
"This is not a pajama party. You have only been on lockdown for six days. The Chinese gymnasts live like this every single day of their regimented little lives. They are plucked from their homes, sent away and locked in a camp. The live, breath, eat, and sleep gymnastics. They are pushed beyond all rational limits until they become perfectly calibrated machines. And in four days, that machine will arrive here and face you. Now are you going to sit here and giggle or do you think, perhaps, that you should get some sleep?"
And, after Lauren slammed her head down against her pillow, he continued, "Silence, music to my ears."
After that, he went back into his office – which was a mistake…
Because there lay Summer…
And just what the hell was she wearing, exactly?
"Thanks again for supervising this."
"No problem," she said, sitting up…
An even bigger mistake – almost literally, "Anything to help the girls beat China."
He nodded. He vaguely remembered that before saying, "Nice pj's."
That is precisely when she looked down and damn, he should've kept his big, stupid mouth shut.
He wished he could've seen her blush, but the lack of lighting in the room made that impossible.
He couldn't fully complain, because since the light wasn't on her face, it was on…other things.
At any rate, she quickly grabbed her…whatever you call it, and wrapped it around herself.
Then, she stood, and it was business as usual.
She started ranting and raving and at this point, Sasha was only half-paying attention, and even then, not really.
She had stood, and was now very, very close.
And it was taking every damn ounce of self-control he had not to kiss her senseless.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew that would be a very, very bad idea – with the girls "sleeping" downstairs and all.
"I'm going to miss waking up to you." He blurted before he could think it through.
It wasn't really his fault, though, the blood wasn't exactly in that brain anymore.
Biology's fault. All freaking Biology's fault.
Summer's eyebrows shot up, "Cute."
Her tone said it was anything but.
"Sasha, we've been professional for six days now and I think this is hardly the time to let our guard down – especially with the girls sleeping right downstairs."
Damn, damn, damn…
He thought about telling her that he thought about that…or at least that the thought had crossed his mind – for a brief time, but it still counted, right?
Then, he thought about grabbing her at the waist and pulling her closer.
Instead, what he said was, "Spoken like a true chaperone."
And, this time, because she was so close to him, he saw the small smile and the red tint in her cheeks.
Before he could say or do anything else stupid tonight, he muttered a, "Sleep well." And, he walked out of there.
Summer promptly went back to lying down.
Days later, they would go on to beat the U.S.'s old record by attaining five medals – thanks to Kaylie's late arrival – and her beating Genji Cho on beam.
Kaylie realized what was going on with Lauren and Carter and broke up with him for good.
It was a good thing, too, because in another week, she would crash head-first into "the great" Austin Tucker.
And cue the fireworks.
