Chapter 1: Amy's POV

I smiled as I watched Carl and Sophia struggle to work on schoolwork. I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I turned around and saw Glenn. I smiled.

"Hey Amy." He said, blushing a little.

"Hey...um, do I need to be on watch again?" I asked, getting frantic. The schedule was so confusing.

"N-No, no! Uh, Dales got that covered." He stammered

"You know...he likes you. He loves hanging out with you. I guess he just like the dad of the group." I said, smiling again, before beginning to play with my hair. I looked around the camp, and caught Andrea watching us. I turned red, and she rolled her eyes.

"Amy? I, uh, gotta tell you something." Glenn's and opened his mouth to say something else, before Lori called my name.

"Uh, catch ya later Glenn." I said, jogging off towards Carl and Sophia.

"Yeah..." I heard him mumble from a ways away.

Carol had sort of become a teacher. There were five kids at camp. Sophia, Carl, the Gonzalez kids, and Nathan.

"Alright guys, you can go play for half an hour, but no more,ok?" Sophia rolled her eyes, and left with one of the Gonzalez kids. The daughter.

Carl, the other boy, and Nathan all headed out towards the worlds.

"Their parents are comfortable with them in the woods?" I asked, watching them disappear into the green.

"They have boundaries." She said. She didn't look at me, and rather looked off into the distance. I nodded, and looking at Carol. She looked tired, and worn. There was a small cut on her cheek.

Ed Pelletier. The worst man on Earth, in my opinion. He walked towards Carol and I. Sophia and the young girl stared at him for a moment, before running into the RV. I made contact with Andrea. She didn't look happy that I was around Ed.

"Why ain't Sophia studyin'?" Ed asked, stepping close to Carol.

"They're on a break, Ed." She answered, softly.

"Break?" He asked, raising his voice.

"No girl of mine gon' go back to school, jus to be a retard." He spat.

"She is extremely intelligent." Carol said, defending her daughter.

"Oh. So now you gon' talk back to me?!" He yelled. I took a few steps back.

Silence fell over the camp, and he raised his hand. Carol flinched.

"Now, Ed." A voice came, from by the RV

"I don't think you really wanna hit that girl, do ya?"

It was Shane. I exhaled.

"I'll fuckin do what ever I want!" He boomed, and proceeded to smack Carol. Shane started to charge, when there was a scream from the woods.

Lori, Andrea, Shane, Glenn, and I took off for the woods. Shane and Lori were frantic, yelling Carl's name over and over. When we finally arrived, we saw Carl and the younger boy, staring down a hill, both crying. Carl had covered his ears.

Carl was screaming and crying, and ran into Shane and Lori. Lori began to cry, and Shane kept telling them it was ok. The little boy who had gone with Carl was frozen, his face filled with terror.

"Come over here buddy." I said, and the screams continued. Probably a poor, unlucky fool. Katherine, Nathan's mom was frantic.

"Where's my baby?!" She cried.

Finally Andrea leaned over the hill.

"Oh my God." She whispered putting a hand over her mouth.

"Andrea?" Shane asked, stepping towards her. She whispered something to him. The colour drained from his face.

"Kathrine." He said slowly, and softly, so much more different then when he was talking to Ed.

Kathrine ran over to the edge. And I walked over.

The screams had turned into the gurgling of blood.

"NOOOOO!" She screamed, collapsing to the ground. There was the sound of ripping flesh, as the walker slowly looked up at us. It had been eating something. It stood up, and I couldn't see what it was.

Finally it had stumble far enough away, and I could see who it was eating

"No..." I whispered to myself.

"Oh God." I heard Glenn say behind me.
