**Skinny Love**
She once had this imaginary friend. Her raggedy Doctor. He showed up one night, from the pitch dark sky, in his blue box. He spoke of a pool, of bigger on the inside, of baked beans and fish fingers with custard.
He told her to be patient, he told her he'd come back, but he never did.
He and his blue box vanished in the pitch black sky.
Amy Pond, the girl who waited.
She was just a child but it was that very night that she fell in love for the first time.
When other girls would dream of a prince charming, she would dream of the Doctor. When other girls would dream of running away with some rock star, she would only dream of a blue box landing in her backyard.
Her raggedy Doctor. Her skinny love.
She would never forget. She would never forgive.
"Why did you say six months?"
"WHY DID YOU SAY FIVE MINUTES?!"
She summoned all the rage and anger she had repressed all this years. She yelled at him, the man who had changed her life forever. She tried to convince herself that she hated him, but as the look of comprehension flashed on his face, all her anger suddenly vanished.
"You're Amelia!"
"You're late!"
"Amelia Pond! You're the little girl!"
"I'm Amelia, and you're late."
"What happened? "
"Twelve years!"
"You hit me with a cricket bat! "
"Ha! Twelve years!"
"A cricket bat!"
"Twelve years, and four psychiatrists!"
"Four?"
"I kept biting them!"
"Why?"
"They said you weren't real."
He smiled. She couldn't help but smile back.
She felt her heart break once more when he left. She stared wide eyes when the blue box disappeared once again. She had loved him as a little girl, she had loved him as a teen, she had loved him as a young woman. She still loved him. She loved him with all her heart, but he didn't belong with her… He belonged to her dreams…
"You came back…"
"'Course I came back, I always come back!"
I was listening to this song "Skinny love" by Birdy and I immediately thought of the Doctor and Amy. I'm actually not a big fan of Amy (there's only place for one ginger girl on the TARDIS and that's Donna Noble!) but I pretty much admire her for waiting her raggedy Doctor for so long. Fourteen years since fish custard!
