Hey guys. This is a teaser chapter to my new Naruto based fic, titled Wolves of the Uchihas. I'll start posting the actual fic some time soon. Thought I'd give you guys something to look forward to.
In the darkness of night, Kisara jerked awake, unknown tears running down her face. She looked around her, she was back in the same room she had first woken up in. Sasori was dozing in the chair next to the bed. Her keen sight registered the gentle rising and falling of his chest as he breathed. Her heightened hearing heard him breathing. She could feel the curse mark humming in her veins. Orochimaru was right, her senses were growing as well as the feral one she kept locked away. She could feel it growing and fighting the confines of it's cage. She needed to be away before it got too strong for her to hold back and it made her kill her family. She knew she couldn't go back to Konoha. With a soft sigh, she accepted the fate that lay before her: cursed to roam the land, running from those who called her monster. Forever to live a life of misery and rejection.
Kisara slipped out of bed and went over to her favorite brother. A butterfly kiss was laid on his cheek. "I'm so sorry Sori. I loved you as much as your brother. The curse mark has become my fate. Its bringing forth my feral instincts, making me something I don't want to be. I need to be as far from you as I can so I can't hurt you or the rest of my family." She told his sleeping form softly. Unknowing, a few tears had fallen and landed on his cheek. She turned away and left the room. She made her way on featherlight footsteps to where she had her things. She inched open the door to Dei's room to find it empty. They must not have returned from bring Sasuke home. Quick as lightening, she darted to the table, picked up her pack and was back at the door. She was out of the base in a matter of seconds and miles away before the sun rose. The whole time she had been running, she had held back tears, now she dropped to her knees and let them free, burying her head in her hands. She cried through her emotions: her heartbreak, her dispar, her loneliness, her fear. She cried until the tears couldn't come anymore then she just sat there with her knees drawn up to her chest, staring into space, eyes empty once more of all emotion.
She sat there and waited.
Then it came.
A shadow emerged from the vanishing darkness and walked up to the still form of a woman who had lost everything in saving her cousin. Her once beautiful violet eyes were now hollow and void of all emotion. The way she was slumped over no longer told of confidence and power, it told of heartbreak and dispar. Her once tan skin was pale. She never even looked up when she heard footsteps approach or stop next to her.
"I knew it wouldn't take long for you to accept your fate. Let's go." A hand grasped the back of her jacket and hauled her to her feet. She willing followed the man into the forest. Dull, emotionless eyes never lifted to examine her surroundings, they stayed glued to the ground before her. Her feet only lifted to step over obsticales in her path, then she dragged her feet, her defeated form slinking after him. Her back injuries ached, but she barely felt it. She was immune to the pain it brought. She was an empty shell, hollow to all feeling and every emotion.
Orochimaru had accomplished his goal: leave his chosen one with no one else to turn to as the curse ran it's course through her body, leaving her ripe for the taking. He had ripped away everything she had. She wouldn't fight him when the time came. With her mixed Genkei Kekki, he could do anything.
