Author's Note: I'm not giving any names. You have to guess who the two boys in this are. The only hint you get is that it's a Harry Potter fanfiction. Other than that, it's all up to you to figure out who they are. And when you do message me with who you think it is. I'd rather not have peolpe blurting the answer out in reviews. If you get it correct, I'll tell you. If you get it wrong, you'll get 2 more guesses before I tell you who they are. Good luck and enjoy! =]
Head Strong
Sweat pouring down like rain from the sky. Heavy breathing could be heard from the boy in scarlet as he blocked ball after ball. Chocolate brown eyes continued to dart between the two in green that were steadily gaining on him. They passed the ball between each other with almost lightening speed, but the boy in scarlet could see their every move. He analyzed their moves with the utmost care, even all the way down to which way their eyes moved.
The girl in green's eyes darted down towards the left hoop. A smirk graced the boy in scarlet's lips as he continued to watch the girl that held the ball securely under her arm. In a split second everything changed though. Out of the corner of his eyes the boy in scarlet noticed what the dark eyed boy on the opposing team had done. He had taken a bat away from one of his beaters and with all of his strength hit the iron ball of furry right towards the boy in scarlet. There was no time to react, no time to get out of the way.
One hundred and forty-nine pounds of solid iron colliding with fragile bone was the last thing the boy in scarlet remembered feeling. The pain was so immense that he blacked out almost instantly. Slumping over on his broom his tall, lithe body went hurtling to the ground before hitting the sand below with a thud. The boy with dark eyes watched with a smirk as the game continued before a small third year caught hold of the golden object that would end the game and declare the team in scarlet the winner of this match.
A week later that boy in that hospital bed would be back on the pitch, back in his uniform, and back on that broom. Sweat would drench his body as he blocked ball after enchanted ball. And as he did this a certain boy in green with piercing black eyes would stand in the shadows watching the boy in scarlet's every move. A smile would grace the lips of one who would never smile in front of others. For now though, he watched from the shadows as the boy in scarlet slept peacefully while his bones slowly began to mend. For now, he would remain hidden from the one who had stolen his heart all those years ago.
