Disclaimers, Author's Notes, and Other Random Notes:
I am not affiliated in any way with Chrono Trigger or Squaresoft, and own none of the characters or events depicted hereafter. I am not making any money off this, trust me. Anyway, this was just a random idea I had while sitting in my math class this morning pretending to pay attention, and if people like it or I feel in the mood, I'll continue. Also, keep in mind that I can't remember the actual quote from the game that sets off the story, so just bear with me if I invented to fill a few gaps.
"Mine name is Glenn!" shouted the frog man into the air. He drew his sword, the Masamune, with a clang. "I swear that henceforth I shall slay Magus and restore honor!" At his words, a bolt of energy struck from the skies down upon the blade he was holding, filling it with the power of his oath, and whatever other secret power the Masamune. Taking a giant leap, the frog brought the fully-charged Masamune crashing down upon the wall of the Magic Cave, opening the way to Magus's Lair. At that moment, however, the Masamune began to glow even brighter, so bright that no mortal eye could withstand the sight of it. Glittering, it burst from the frog man's hands as he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Slowly, images began to return to his line of vision. Fuzzy, humanoid shapes loomed above his head, colors and lines blurred as he struggled to regain consciousness.
"Where am I?" asked a high, squeaky voice coming out of his mouth.

"You were out for so long, I was wondering if you'd died and gone to the big castle in the sky," laughed the big man with a blue cape.
"Cyrus, don't joke about things like that," scorned an older woman. "Circumstances being what they were, he's lucky to be alive. Few people can come out of a fall onto those boulders in Truce Canyon and recover after only a few hours."
The big man spoke again, in his charismatic, strong voice. "You're always so serious, Nurse."
"Run along, Cyrus, and go play with the big boys. Glenn will be alright in time."

"Now, Glenn, you really ought to get some rest," Nurse said to him again. You can go and see Cyrus later. He's been very worried about you, you know. He's taken a fancy to you, for some reason…"
"Alright, Nurse, I will," promised the squeaky voice issuing from his mouth. However, as soon as the Nurse left the room, he hopped out of the white sheets and began to race for the door, obviously hoping to follow Cyrus. He got a little ways down the hallway before someone caught him.
"Up again already, young Glenn?" asked the Knight Captain cheerfully, red cape waving around his clanky gold armor as he strode up and down the castle corridors, admiring his reflection. "I heard you took a nasty fall playing in Truce Canyon."
Again, the squeaky voice spoke of its own accord. "It was really nothing, Sir," it respectfully intoned. "Where's Cyrus?"
"I believe you can find him in his rooms," replied the Captain. "He's been practicing at his swordplay extra-hard all week."
"Thanks, Sir!" Glenn shouted before rushing off, despite the throbbing feeling clearly obvious to anyone inside his head.
