She Owns The Night
A Ronin Fanfic By Tsunami Starsheart
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Ronin Warriors,(much to my dismay).I this story I only own Brandi. This fic is a part of One Autumn Morn. Do not read this unless you have read up to chapter five in One Autumn Morn so you will have some clue as to who Brandi is.
Her feet hit the pavement in rythem all their own as she ran in the evenings birth. Her dried tears now plastered to her cheeks as drops of a cold sweat traced their pathes. Slowing, she realized that running wasn't too wise a choice in a city she had just arrived. Stepping out of the street and onto the sidewalk, Brandi pulled a handkechief from her pocket and wiped her face, all the while trying to gather her bearings.
Looking around cautiosly, she replaced the cleaning clothe and walked into a nearby park, swings off to one side. Sitting down in the largest one, Brandi watched her shadow idly as memories flooded her mind. A lone tear found it's way down her face as she watched her parents' bodies being hidden underneath the white sheets, the fourmaldihyde threatining to nauseate her senses. The only reason she had to come to this Toyama was to identify their bodies and such.
It was supposed to be a routine bussiness trip to check up on their financial investments. Then the dome of darkness surrounded the city suddenly, watching the television monitor, not knowing that she would soon be an orphan, never knowing that some unknown force had decided to claim the lives of the only people in the world that she had.
A grim line drew across the teens normally gentle face. She had a choice to make. Go back home to America, or stay here in Toyama. Either way she'd be alone, but maybe, just maybe she can find out why her parents met such an early demise. Standing up Brandi grimaced and brushed her braid of silver hair over her shoulder, it stopping just above her hips. Her navy blue eyes shining with determination. Remembering of all things that her parents had taught her was to be strong.
Holding her head high, Brandi walked out of the park with a renewed strength, 'hopefully in the direction of a hotel' she thought to herself. Standing tall she walked down the street with a newly found power, she had always loved the night, it made her feel strong, the moon always seemed to gently guide her the right way. Brandi loved the night. Brandi owned the night. The night would never hurt her.
Walking on she heard rustling behind her and felt hands grab her from behind, own covering her mouth, the other encircling her waist. Trying to scream she wondered 'Why has the night betrayed me too?' Her world went black from shock. When she awoke a group of guys were fighting one short guy with a stocky build. Wincing as she attempted to sit up she noticed that she was bleeding quite profusely. Not able to take it anymore she felt darkness surround her once again, only catching a glimpse of the boy that would save her, give her meaning to live, and eventually love.
Kento Rei Faun's eyes looked at the girl in his arms as he carried her to safety.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Yes, this is the entire fic. I just thought it would be nice to elaborate a bit about Brandi. Thanks again Rogue Ronin for the inspiration!! Arigato!! Ja ne!!
