'Till My Petals Fall

A Hunchback of Notre Dame Poem

I, a flower standing tall

Now wilts within its garden

Because of unrequited love

I'm destined soon to fall

The moment I laid eyes on you,

All my sorrow went away.

Your sparkling eyes and gentle smile

Stayed in my mind all day.

I longed for you to know someday

'Bout these feelings that I felt

Thinking about you with me

Just made my heart melt.

The Feast of Fools had come around

I made my way through the crowd

Every man there was a clown,

But you hadn't changed at all

But then I saw you staring at

A pretty gypsy girl

You smiled as you watched her dance

Her eyes shone like a pearl

I tried my best to find you

And tell you how I felt

But Fate I guess decided it

Just wasn't meant to do

I, a flower standing tall,

Now wilts within its garden

With a sword, it's blade now stained

I let my petals fall
