Summary: The first snowfall of 1997. Life carries on, in war, whether you realize it or not. Remus/Tonks
Word Count: 213
It was cold, for mid-November, with icy winds that threatened to snap branches from the leafless trees.
Remus, oddly enough, found it calming. This was life. It was nice to know that life carried on, even in war.
He found Tonks sitting on the bench at the back of the house, staring at the grass.
"Hey."
She snapped her head up at his voice, and smiled hesitantly at him before lowering her gaze back to the ground.
There was still a lot of hurt between them, Remus knew, for he had returned only a week before. They hadn't spoken much—then again, there wasn't a lot to say.
He sat next to her on the bench—not too close, he wasn't sure how she would respond to that, but not far enough to hurt her more.
They sat for a few moments, only the wind rustling the bushes' remaining leaves breaking the silence.
"Remus." Her voice was barely more than a whisper.
He turned his head to find her staring at the sky, her eyes slightly narrowed, a small smile appearing on her face.
"Yes?"
"It's snowing."
So it was.
Yes, it was nice to know that life had carried on, even in the middle of this war, whether they had realized it or not.
A/N: I liked writing this, I really did. And I don't think it's too horrible, for my first one shot.
The only reasons I have for writing is are A) I wanted to try it out, and B) OTPs are great.
Feel free to review! (Tell me if there are any other ships you want me to write about, please!)
