He rushed pi sigma sigma

He had always wanted to be in a frat, ever since he saw Animal House with Logan and DK a million years ago.

He was a shoe in he was a legacy. Big Dick had been a pi sig way back in the day. He considered rushing a different frat just to be one step father away from Big Dick but once he'd heard the rumours of sexquest he knew it was the right place for him.

The idea that his father was a part of anything sex related should have turned his stomach but he had had a pretty...informative childhood.

His heart had broken the night of graduation and the guys in the fraternity didn't know, they didn't care. To them he was the Dick he'd been before that night just maybe a little heavier on the booze. There was something freeing in that. That they didn't look at him with wide worried eyes like Logan or with those broken blue eyes of Mac's a mirror of how broken they had both been since that night.

It broke all over again the first time someone in the frat called him brother all the mending he'd been trying to do completely undone. Like he'd been trying to fix a broken dam with bubblegum.

"What's wrong Dick?" Chip asked as they sat on the beach looking out at the surf.

Dick bit his lip and shook his head.

Chip in an uncharacteristic surge of empathy put a hand on Dick's shoulder, "you can tell me Dick, were brothers."

Dick just lost it, his body shaking with sobs, tears streaming down his face.

"Yo dude?!" Chip exclaimed, he looked quickly around the beach, they were alone, and then he closed the small space between them and wrapped his arms around his little brother.

"I should have been better." Dick sobbed out, his hands on Chip's arm, gripping him like he was drowning

Chip said nothing, just held onto him until the sobs had stopped.

Chip pulled his arms back away from Dick and Dick fell backwards into the sand.

"You okay man?"

"Not really." Dick tells him voice hoarse and thick.

"You're my little brother you can tell me anything."

Dick's heart lurches because never in his life had he made that clear to Cassidy. Maybe if he had people would be alive today.

"Do you know about my brother?" He asks and Chip gets oddly quiet. Which is a resounding yes. He sits up to look at him how can his frat brothers act normal around him knowing about Cassidy?

"Yeah, we all know man." Chip shrugs like its not a big deal and it feels like a weight has been lifted.

"Then how can you...how can everyone still..."

Chip takes a wild guess, "we like you Dick, your pi sig to the core," he taps on Dick's chest,"and being a pi sig isn't just about beer and babes...don't get me wrong that's a lot of it, but were brothers, were family."

Dick thinks he's going to cry again.

"What happened to your brother was a tragedy."

Dick looks at him wide eyed no one ever remembers what had happened to Beaver they are always blinded by what he had done, they never saw how unsafe he felt in his own skin like he had.

"You may not have noticed but most of us have shit families Dick, that's why we have each other."

Chip smiles and puts his hand out.

Dick returns the smile and shakes Chip's hand like a pi sig.

Dick hadn't wanted to believe that he had joined a fraternity to shove as many new brothers into the whole were Cassidy used to live and he's right on some level because the pi sigs don't want to replace Cassidy they want to stand beside him. And they do, now more then ever before. Dick thinks he might cry again but he puts it on lock down because surely Chip has reached his sensitivity quota for the year with this.

"Thanks brother." Dick tells him quietly and Chip just claps him on the back and they stare out at the surf.
