Henry was very good at observing stuff. He noticed that the town's clock never moved past 8:15, and that Dr. Whale was always at the diner when it was Ruby's shift, and that his mom only baked apple pies when Graham used to come around. He could blend around the adults, and he'd pick up stuff about them. It helped him with guessing who's who in Storybrooke, and came in handy when he started Operation Cobra. Now that Emma was working with him on breaking the curse, he started to observe something else too.

That whenever his mom entered the Diner, that as they leave Emma would always bump into his mom. It was like a mini-shove competition and Regina would always push harder. Henry learnt to stay on the other side of Regina when they entered Granny's diner; somehow Emma and Regina always end up in a silent fight of 'accidental' shoving each other out of each other's way. A few times they would spit out 'watch it' at each other, but recently its just push and shove.

That whenever he brings up Emma's name during lunchtime, his mom's eyes would flare for a second then resume on eating normally. He stopped bringing up Emma's name, hoping he wouldn't get her into trouble. But then when he didn't bring her up, his mom would ask what he as up to when he went 'scurrying' around with 'Miss Swan'.

It was always 'Miss Swan' or 'Sheriff' (after Graham died); Regina never called her 'Emma'. Henry noticed that too but didn't think much of it. As for Emma, she didn't seem to mind calling Regina out by her first name.

Emma, Henry observed, is still hard to figure out. She's good at detecting lies, and is all up for his Cobra operation, but he doesn't feel she's ready for the whole truth. She also seems to be very childish. She didn't make a big fuss about wearing Regina's shirt that Henry gave her, but she also didn't seem to let go of it. Emma also keeps getting mad at the smallest insults Regina throws her way; Henry thought she should've gotten used to them by now.

Really, his mom only keeps his snarkiest comments for Emma, which he feels is somehow a good thing. His mom's face only looks real when she's facing Emma. Henry has seen enough of his mom's patterns to know that she has two faces: one that she puts on display to the town, and the private one she has only for him. And recently her face is all together new when she's lecturing Emma, and though it looks weird, he likes it.

But most of all, what Henry has noticed very intriguing about Emma and his mom is also the one thing he doesn't understand. They just seem to...to collide? No wait, its not that… his moms just seem to try to be all good around each other, but when they see that he's there, they start being all angry at each other. It's like Pongo with this dog at the park: they keep barking at each other, but you can still see their tails wagging excitedly. Henry doesn't know why but that memory keeps coming back when he sees his mom and Emma together.

For now, he's just going to have to observe them some more and see what happens when all the barking stops.
