Crystal of Fantasia X RWBY
Chapter One
(I don't usually make creator notes, but I will here. I'm going to immediately guess that everyone knows what the RWBY cast looks like, so I will only describe my own characters. The setting is around RWBY Volume 1-3.)
"Are you alright?" Ruby held her hand out to a stranger.
"I'm fine" the stranger took her hand.
The stranger looked just a bit older than Ruby, maybe a year or two older than her. She had long white hair in a ponytail, red eyes, a white shirt with a purple collar and borders, black gloves, a white skirt that was open in the front, black pants and white boots.
"What's your name?" Ruby asked.
"Dalia Fayola, you?"
"Ruby Rose, nice to meet you."
Ruby helped Dalia get to her feet; the two continued to talk as Ruby lead her to a place called "Beacon Academy". Ruby was a strange girl, she was always happy and despite not knowing where she was going, she kept walking like it was no problem. Dalia however, was much more cautious, she didn't want to accidently trip and fall or get into any kind of trouble.
"And here we are." Ruby pointed at the school, it was much bigger than Dalia had thought, it was almost like a castle. "Come on, let me show you around!"
The halls were full of other students, and Ruby seemed to be right at home. Maybe it was the inviting atmosphere of the school, or the students themselves that made it so easy for Dalia to calm down and get used to the environment.
"And there you are!" Weiss stomped over to Ruby; she was mad at her teammate. "You just run off like it's nothing! Classes start in an hour! And who is that?"
Ruby explained the situation to Weiss; she thought she saw something happening right outside of the school and found Dalia there. Weiss didn't seem surprised, she expected that much from Ruby, she was Ruby's teammate after all.
"Okay, let's just ready for class. Dalia was it?" Weiss looked at Dalia, "take care of yourself okay?"
Weiss pushed Ruby into their room as Ruby waved goodbye to her new friend.
"May I talk to you?" It was Ozpin, the head master of Beacon Academy. "Alone please."
He caught Dalia wandering the campus grounds, perhaps he wanted to know who she was and why she was in his school.
"I've never seen you before? Are you a new student?" That was the first question.
"You could say something like that" that was her answer.
Ozpin took her to his office to talk in private.
Perhaps he had an idea what was going on, perhaps he knew why she was there. But he didn't, all he knew, is that something was off. He kept himself vague and informative at the same time, he was type that could hide the truth easily with simple words. No one would have thought something was off, it was until he said something that made her question him.
"Maidens" that was the word. He knew something, and hoped she knew it as well.
"I don't know anything about them sir." She shook her head.
"Very well, if you will, please return to your dorm room. I'll call you in if I need you again."
If he needed her again, what did that mean? It didn't matter, this was a time where transfer students were coming into Beacon so unfamiliar faces was common
She returned to the one place she remembered in Beacon, Ruby and Weiss' room.
"Who is it?" Weiss opened the door only to close it once again.
"What was that for?!" Dalia reopened the door. "Look, I just need somewhere to stay for a bit."
"I'm sure we can work something out." Ruby stood next to Weiss.
"Don't you have a team or something?" Weiss asked.
A team? Dalia didn't know what that meant, she didn't come with anyone nor did she know anyone else. She just found herself in Beacon with Ruby and Weiss, they were the only ones who she knew.
She sighed she didn't have anyone else to go to, and despite Weiss' unwillingness to help, she was able to stay with them.
"This is only temporary got that?" Weiss told her.
Classes started soon after, Ruby and Weiss headed to their class and brought Dalia with them. She was wearing one of Weiss' uniforms that fit her surprisingly well. She sat next to Ruby; she wasn't that fond of Weiss and the other students had their own friend groups.
"Now who would like to demonstrate?" The professor got her attention, and before she knew it, she offered to help.
"Very well miss, show us how to beat a Grimm."
"A what?" She whispered.
"It's what hunters and huntresses fight" Weiss said with an annoyed tone. "Don't you know anything?"
She walked to the stairs and down to where the professor wanted her to be. He revealed a cage with something moving inside of it.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
"She's a transfer student!" Another student yelled out. "Let someone else do it!"
The professor looked at her to see if she wanted to back down; she didn't and stood ready to fight. He opened the cage and a beowolf jumped from the cage. She grabbed the handles of her weapon with both hands and went through the motion of throwing them on the ground while still holding onto them. Two chains attached to the handles came out and on the ends were spinners.
She held onto the handles and swung the first one to cut through beowolf. While it didn't do much damage at first, she kept trying until Ruby yelled out something.
"You need to cut through it!"
Dalia shook the handles once and the blades on the spinners extended. She hadn't fought anything where she had to slice it in half before, her weapon was intended to cut off smaller pieces like armor or limbs. She ran towards the beowolf and jumped, giving her the height advantage and slammed down the handles with, in turn, created a wave in the chains, raising the spinners up. She pulled the handles back, and the spinners started to rotate quickly then sliced through the beowolf with ease.
The other students stood up and clapped, even Ruby was excited, mostly because she wanted to know how the weapon worked.
"Well done miss" the professor congratulated her. "I've never seen a weapon like that before, did you make it?"
"I did. It's actually the third model," Dalia said proud of herself.
"Well then, please take you seat and we'll continue our lesson."
"That was amazing!" Ruby walked with Dalia and Weiss back to the dorm room. "Your weapon and techniques are so cool!"
"I'll admit that was interesting" Weiss said.
"Can you show me how it works? Please?" Ruby had a puppy face to convince Dalia to show her the weapon.
"Alright, alright" Dalia gave in.
Back in the dorm room Dalia showed her weapons to Ruby and Weiss. She demonstrated how the triggers work on it to put it in different modes. One mode was defense, the blades would go in and the handle would attach to the spinner's body. Another mode was offense and defense, which was when the blades were smaller and could take out armor. And the last mode was offense, when the blades were fully extended, doubling its diameter.
"That's so cool!" Ruby complimented her.
"How about you?" Dalia asked Ruby.
"I have this" Ruby showed her the scythe. "It's also a gun."
She clicked it.
Ruby explained that her weapon was modeled after her uncle's, who was also a scythe wielder. Everyone had some form of weapon to fight against the creatures of Grimm. Weiss had a rapier, Ruby's sister Yang, had gauntlets and Blake had a katana like weapon.
Everything seemed normal, the other members of Ruby's team joined, and they introduced themselves. Team "RWBY" is what they called themselves, they were a team of young huntresses, and Beacon, was just one out of four schools training hunters and huntresses. That was the world Dalia found herself in.
How did this all start? That's the question, how it all started…the Grimm, the monsters of the world. Was it them that lead her here? Maybe so, maybe not. So many questions, so little time to answer all of them. What was the one thing that brought you here? What is the meaning you were looking for?
