The Miracle Of The Christmas
Temperance hated Christmas. She didn't just dislike Christmas, she hated it . She loathed it.
Every December, Temperance would feel herself getting all sad inside. She refused to put up a Christmas tree, she snapped at anyone brave enough to sing a carol in her vicinity, and she never, ever bought anybody any presents.
On December 13, Temperance had to go to the mall to buy a present for Booth. When she got there, there were so many shoppers pushing her around and so much Christmas music blaring, she thought her head would explode.
Finally, she was done. Just outside the door was a man collecting for charity. Temperance never gave to charity, so she started to walk past without a word.
Suddenly, the man dropped his bells and ran. There was a child right in the path of an oncoming truck. But the man slipped and fell, so now they were both in danger!
Temperance rushed out and pushed them both out of the way. There was a bang and then everything went dark.
When Temperance woke up, she was in a hospital room. There was a Christmas tree in the corner and soft carols were playing. Also, Temperance's head hurt. A lot.
The man came into the room."You're awake. My name is Seeley. You saved me from the truck. But your back is broken."
Temperance hardly knew what to say. Even though there was a Christmas tree up and her back was broken, she felt quite happy, especially when she looked at Seeley.
"Your back must hurt," Seeley said. "I think this will help." And he massaged Temperance several times.
Now Temperance felt very happy indeed. She didn't hate Christmas at all now. In fact, she loved it. And she loved Seeley. "I love you," she said, and kissed Seeley softly.
"I love you too," said Seeley. Just then, the the child ran into the room and hugged Temperance.
Seeley grinned, "This is my son, Parker" they would live happily ever after
