Hey guys

Hey guys! This is basically just a cute little drabble with some Briley slash. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: Ben and Riley aren't mine.

Riley Poole lay outside under a full moon, breathing in the scent of the damp grass. It was close to 3 AM, but he was having trouble sleeping. Some crickets chirped nearby. A cool night breeze sent chills through his skin. Fireflies dotted the giant backyard, scattering small bursts of light.

He slowly closed his eyes, taking in everything around him, when he heard the door open and close behind him. His eyes snapped open.

"Riley?" Ben's sounded groggy and hoarse. He approached the younger man, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "What are you doing out here? Do you know what time it is?"

"Yes. But I couldn't sleep." Riley sighed. Ben sat down cross-legged beside him on the ground.

"So you come outside and lay on some wet grass?" Riley shrugged, sighing again and closing his eyes.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time. So what are you doing out here?"

"Looking for you."

The two sat in silence. The chirping crickets filled in the empty space. Riley let out another quiet sigh and watched a cloud float across the sky, partially covering the moon. He sat up abruptly.

"You know, I really like fireflies."

Ben looked at him, curious. "Why is that?"

"Well, when you look at them during the day, they look like normal bugs. But at night they show what they really are."

"Hmm…" Ben thought about it. "Kind of like you?"

"What is that supposed to mean?" Riley looked at the older man.

"Well during the day, you're relatively normal. But at night I can see something different about you. Something I really like." Ben said softly.

"Really?" Riley looked rather amused. "And what might that be?" He smirked.

"I don't know. I can't quite put my finger on it." Ben said, thinking. He looked Riley over for a minute. "It's definitely something in your eyes, though."

"My eyes?" Riley snorted. "My eyes remind you of fireflies."

Ben nodded slowly. Riley lay back down, closing his eyes. He was surprised to suddenly feel a pair of soft, warm lips brush against his own. The sensation was gone.

He opened his eyes to see Ben lying on the grass beside him, looking up at the stars. Even in the faint light, he could color in Ben's cheeks. Riley leaned over, kissing the older man back. He laid his head back down on the damp grass. Ben opened his eyes, sitting up and drawing his knees close to his chest.

"Riley?"

"Hmm?"

"I suddenly found a new reason to like fireflies."

Riley sat up, catching a small firefly between his hands. He opened them, looking at the glowing bug. Then let it float off of his palm and fly back into the night. He gave Ben a sleepy smile.

"I think I did too."

Did you like it? Did you not like it? Either way, review!!
