He could smell her. It was that awful vampire smell mixed with the greatest smell in the world. It was her smell, and he absolutely adored it. As the trees began to clear, he saw her silhouette against the gorgeous sunset. His heart leapt. That weight that always sat on his shoulders when he was away from her was swept away. He smiled to himself, before backing into the woods to change. He, then, stepped forward, so he was no longer concealed by the trees. Her back was to him, but of course she knew he was there. However, she did not turn or even flinch, so he walked closer. He took a seat on a rock about eight feet to the right of her. Her eyes were closed and a content smile was resting on her lips. She was standing at the edge of the twenty- five foot cliff, breathing in the salty, sea air. Her hair was flowing behind her. It had gotten much straighter and darker as she grew up. It was now very similar to Bella's hair. Her eyes were still the green that Edward's had been before he was changed. Her skin was sparkling in the sun. Though she had only been alive for ten years, she looked like a sixteen year old, and had the brains of a thirty year old. Jacob had not aged a day seen his transformation. Now that they looked close enough to each other's age, they had started a real relationship.

"Why are you staring at me, Jake?" she asked without opening her eyes

"It's difficult not to."

She opened her eyes and smiled at him. He felt his heart melt. Everything she did made his heart melt. She walked over and sat next to him, grasping his hand.

"I've been thinking about something," Jake said looking out into the ocean.

"What might that be?" she asked turning her head, so she too was looking out to sea.

"Well, you know how I told you about the imprint thing." He all of a sudden felt very nervous.

"Yes, I'm pretty sure you've beaten that subject to death. What about it?" she asked.

"Well, when I first saw you, it was like you were the thing holding me to earth. It wasn't exactly love; it was like you were the only reason I was alive." He didn't know how to word the next part, but she was still listening attentively, so he pressed on. "That's still true, but I do feel love now. Like if the Imprint suddenly went away, I would still love you. Am I making any sense?" he said. He felt really stupid for bringing it up.

"You're making perfect sense, Jake, and I love you too." She was beaming. She grabbed his face and pulled him in for their first kiss. It was unlike anything he could have imagined and easily the best thing in the world.

She broke off and stood up. "Let's go home," she said before she took off into the forest.

Before he changed and ran after her, Jake had a thought. He wasn't just in love with the girl he had imprinted on. He was in love with Renesmee Cullen.
