Note: Don't ask. Really, I don't even know what this is. It's hilarious, and I thought of it while I was brushing my teeth.

Unfortunate : A Poem About Love

By Raine Ishida

The day he spoke was a dark one indeed,

And why do men speak when a woman's in need?

All women need is a listening ear

And to a man, perhaps, the reason's not clear.

"I want to be in theatre!" his brilliant wife claimed.

"I'll be a star, a model, without any shame!"

He wondered if he should speak at all,

Perhaps he would, and make her feel small,

But Shikamaru was smart,

He knew better than to mock his wife's art

For she was an artist, a woman on show

Who was he to tell her where to go?

But foolishness won out

And Shikamaru spoke,

And once more became

One of the unfortunate folk.

"That's just absurd," Shikamaru naively said,

"Women don't belong on the stage,

But in the kitchen or in my bed!"

"Is that so?" said Temari, his dear wife did hiss

(for truly in her defence, she was quite pissed).

Shikamaru was in trouble after his small joke

For his wife thought him a very troublesome bloke.

And with a firm grip, took a frying pan

And after she swung, smiled and thought

"That'll teach you to speak like a man."
