Love was an unknown term for Jason Grace.
All his life, he had to surpass every obstacle that came his way, and saying his life wasn't easy would be understating it. Everyday, he had to go through his own personal hell, and everyday he had to sacrifice something more in order to survive.
He was scarred, both mentally and phisically. Phisically because of all the battles he fought and won, and mentally because he had no one left. His mom, gone because of drugs. His sister, gone because of the hunters. And his dad? Well, his dad was on the top of his "The People I don't Talk About" list.
He had no love inside of him, and where there is no love, that void is filled with hate. Jason Grace fed off that hate, for it was all he had. It was the only thing that never left him, no matter what happened. So he kept fighting, but he didn't believe anymore.
He didn't believe in happy endings or fairytales, and he was lost. He couldn't be found, and he slowly suffocated under the weight of humanity and all it had taken away from him. He paid the price for his existence by suffering everyday, and that was all that could be asked of him before he broke down. He couldn't take it, so he just waited to die.
And then he saw an angel.
