Blood X Alice.

Disclaimers: I don't own any character, all right goes to Quinrose, Lewis Carroll.

-Prologue-

Frustration might be the right word from now on but who knows for later? The princess was getting used to this, but this endlessly non-stopping? Not at all. She grew tired of it- well everything that has been happening recently.

Alice huffed from how ridiculously meaningless this has been so far; her step-mother, who eventually become the next queen, was only capable of pleasing herself with her silly parties, everyday. Of course, she had to attend them but rather than that she wished for a peaceful time. Worse, after four days, it's was her birthday; it only means another one, but for how long? Oh, she knows! And for last- why those letters and gifts were mostly sent by the same unknown person!?

It only started by two months ago; in the beginning, Alice thought it was just someone from business that her father might knows, but if it really was, then why sending that to her? Well a stalker? As for the second option, Alice chose to ask her elder sister for a word of advice, Lorina, and as soon she mentioned about the gifts - the result was just;

"Oh, silly, little Alice! It must be someone who has crush on you, a secret admirer! He-he, isn't that romantic?"

"...H-How is that a secret admirer?" Alice titled her head, unsure of this. So, the rest of their time they spent together was mostly on poor Alice being teased. "Don't worry; I will keep this as a secret!" Lorina giggled later on as she left her little sister's room. Alice sighed, knowing that Lorina was just taking her too lightly.

At times, Lorina could be very childish with her; that was a part of her elder sister that Alice has seen alone, it wasn't really that annoyed. It has been awhile that they talked like this, since that Lorina was a married woman; she wasn't living with Alice in the kingdom any longer. But still Lorina was visiting her, only two or three times per month. Yet, Alice had to admit that she was lonely without her, probably, another reason to get upset with.

Nonetheless, everyday seemed to be much stranger. This was wrong...Each parties were normally held by, same duties as always, as if the same day was meant to be repeating over and over again. Nothing special occurs... Sometimes, when it was possibly often, Alice felt that the all world was spying on her - just the thought of it, made her sick. As Alice wandered around the castle, she was thinking about the gifts letters true purpose.

Why did she have a bad feeling about it?

Today was her birthday, she turned to eighteen. It was an early morning and to be exact, Alice wasn't really a morning person. The brunette stared at the ceiling and once she was tired of the blank space, she lay down in her king-sized bed and curled into the comfortable pillows. It wasn't really a bad habit for her to wake up so soon, especially knowing the daily routine's of the day.

"So boring..." She muttered quietly and lazily sits on her bed. Sooner, Alice decided to take a bath by herself. Of course- she had everything in her own room; so it might be a refreshing start for the day before the late afternoon event of the sickening ball.

Once Alice finished, she tried to dry hair and put her clothes on. It was a classic Lolita outfit combined with the color, white & dark blue. The top was designed with cute white ribbons who were attaching the both sides together and it had long sleeves. The dress hemline went to her knees, with trim of ruffles that each layers held separately. The shoes were black low heels adorned with a sweet bowknot and her below was covered by the black leggings.

Later on, Alice stepped out from her bedroom and went to her studying room- who wasn't actually looking like it, but more like a library. At least, before anything happens, she wanted to read one or maybe two books. It might calm her down, just a little bit, thought.

She picked some books and when she sat in the nearest sofa and place her books down; she saw something too unexpected. A beautiful bouquet of red roses and close from that a small gift box was there. The bow, who elegantly wrapped the gift, had her initials written in it with smaller letters- It was obviously sent for her.

In a dazzle, Alice tried to calm down as much she could since it wasn't the first time. But what she was expecting this time? Before she hesitates- Alice unwrap the bow and then, opened the box to see ahead a jewelry glittering in her teal eyes. It was a bling jewelry brooch, gold ribbon-shaped pin, with a hanged red gem in the bottom of it.

The sparkly jewelry left her breathless. Alice didn't want to utter a word, only was there, dumbfounded only for a few seconds and regained her posture. Yes, the young Liddell received this kind of gifts and more, but this was... somehow unclichéd.

The fact that any women would certainly squeal in amazement for this... It made Alice think twice of how could that living hell of a person sent her this. Especially, why did it have to be her from all the people on earth? Sign, she wasn't that type of a girl who held interest into the jewelry fetish at all.

She carried the expensive brooch pin in her hand, taking a good look at it and noticed the small note in the now-empty box. The young maiden carefully took the paper, leaving the jewelry behind, and read the content of it;

'Dear Princess,

If you've read this by now, I presume that you've receive it.

Accept this gift and wear it for the ball.

Tonight shall be the night, Alice.

No matter you try to run away, hiding won't be a necessary.'

With hidden exasperation, she read over and over again till she stopped and tilted her head backwards. Alice frowned. She stared blankly, and thoughts flew into her mind. One thing was sure; this night will reveal a lot- well at least for her. Maybe everything would make more sense?

"...I guess I should really try to wear this." Alice glanced back to the glittery jewel, and hided it on her pocket. It wasn't the first time that jewelries were sent over, only that this time she has been told, or for a much better word, ordered around to approve of it. But at the end she will win something so, there's nothing to lose, right?

It might hopefully answer her several wonders... Even the main solutions were inaccessible; replying to the letters was impossible- well she didn't have any clue 'who' was addressing her. Secondly, nothing normally sent was located. Apart from all that, it was evident that the sender was a man and had enough of guts to mess around the daughter of the Liddell Kingdom. Just that everything else was unknown-

Alice signed in defeat, and kept everything in her drawer. She sits back to her previous seat, and decided to read the books that she picked from the time being.

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Funny, how fate made the name of protagonist of the story, share the same name of hers. But the plot of this story was nothing compare to her. In short, this book reminded of her childhood when she was still a young child.

As the young brunette started to read, a memory went through her mind...

"Eh...this was just a dream!" Alice pouted cutely. On the other side, Lorina was smiling at the small eight years old girl. It was peaceful time; the weather was lovely and they sneaked secretly around on their garden without anyone knowing.

"Alice...don't be too sad." Lorina muttered softly as she closed the book. "B-but..." Alice whined.

"Alice returned to the scary world!" She confirmed to the fourteen years old, Lorina. Lorina chuckled, not confused by the fact that her little sister, was using her own name. After all, she only wanted to see how Alice would react to the story that held her own name. Alice in Wonderland.

"It's not a scary world. Alice returned to where she truly belonged." Lorina corrected her, and patted softly Alice's head. The little princess looked at her elder sister with a sad face, small tears formed into her teal eyes.

"But won't everyone miss Alice!?" Alice muttered sadly with a cute puppy eye. Lorina gave her an sympathetic smile as she replied,

"Alice...They probably would miss her. But it was her duty to return in her original world. If she was to dream on forever, there will be no progress. Or maybe it's the otherwise. It's her choice to choose her path...whether it was a bad or good choice. We don't know what our actions will lead on our own future."

Alice wiped her watery eyes and nodded. "Onee-chan...I..."

"We should get back soon! You've piano lessons next, right!?" Lorina jumped suddenly as she remembered. Next, Alice was dragged away by Lorina back to the castle and- got scolded for being late...

Did the Alice from 'Alice in Wonderland' make the right choice? That was what the young little Alice wanted to ask her sister...But sadly never did-

Knock. Knock.

In the middle of the reading, an unwanted sound came across the door. Alice signed; she was cut off to the part from her reading of where the protagonist encounters the white rabbit. Trying to hide her frustration from the interruption, the blond answers with a short, "Come in."

The door opened, two maids were standing there. "Your highness...Our Queen wants us to start working on your dress." Alice gave a short nod and before leaving, she pointed at the bouquet of roses who still remained there.

"Could you please put them?" Alice asked politely. One of the maids bowed in understanding and the other one went with Alice, outside the room. They entered another room to find several co-workers there, prepared to work on the dress; taking the measurement for the dress.

After awhile, who appears to be forever, the maids end their argument about the color for the clothing. They decided on for a rich red over it and Alice agreed. But then, she furrowed brows with confusion- What's with the rich red, matching the red gem? Freak, this was just a silly coincidence, right?

"Fine. I won't think about it to hard." Alice thought as she leaved them to their business, returning to her previous spot. She returned to her book, finding the bookmark which kept her page, and continued on reading.

It won't be long, Alice.

... Why do my beginnings always sound so boring? Many of my reviewers asked me to continue which was kind of hard especially after loosing my inspiration... So I decided after all to re-write this rather than removing this story. Really, thanks guys for the support! Without you guys, I wouldn't have given it a second chance! :'D I promise that I will try my best to finish this story... (My updates are going to be slow because of school. So please bear with it.)

P.S: Honestly, I can't wait to write a P.O.V. for this, when I wrote this I felt there was something lacking, sorry if you felt this too! I just needed to give a bit of an introduction. And yap 500 words went to 2,000 words for the prologue! :o I will be changing a bit the plot of what's going to happen in this!I'm writing another story named "Love Fighter" for Blood&Alice, I would like you to check it out.
