Ever since Glee club first started all the way back in 2009, relationships had constantly been changing. With the stuff between Finn, Quinn and Rachel, then with Santana and Puck and Brittany and Artie and Tina and . . . well, there was a lot of drama, okay? The New Directions weren't exactly known for being a very peace-keeping club.
So, at the beginning, the Glee club (all of it at the time) gathered after school at Tina's house ("It's big, and you have a pool") and created the Relationship Board, or just The Board. A Glee couple were only official once their name was on The Board. There were rules, too.
1. You can NOT rub out an entry.
2. You can NOT change any information.
3. You can only be on the board if you are dating; friendships and bromances don't count.
4. Mr Schuester could NEVER find out.
No one checked The Board unless they were adding their own entry; it was only checked every few months by the most reliable member of the group at the time.
Kurt pulled Blaine into the empty choir room.
"Kurt," Blaine said, keeping a firm grip on his boyfriend's hand. "What are you doing? We're going to miss the show."
"Oh, don't worry," Kurt waved off Blaine's worry easily, observing the room. "Mercedes is in full-blown diva mode. She and her 'manager' will postpone the show for at least 25 minutes, and Karofsky won't follow us after Santana threatened to kick his ass. Now where is it?"
"Where's what?" Blaine asked, following his boyfriend around the room, completely lost to his motives.
"The — here we go," Kurt's toothless smile widened as he slid a large piece of wood out from the back of a book case. "Do you have a marker?"
Blaine nodded, handing Kurt a black marker. Uncapping it, Kurt wrote neatly and precisely on the board, before sliding it back into place.
"Okay, let's go, I don't want to miss the ND's Night of Neglect," Kurt dragged Blaine behind him. Blaine just laughed carelessly and followed, sinking into his wonderland as he watched Kurt jump excitedly at the aspect of watching his old friends — no, his family — perform, the strange board far from his dapper and well-educated mind.
The next time someone checked the board, a new entry was written in neat, cursive black marker.
