"Everyone has their weaknesses even wine."
Olivia had just gotten home from another exhausting day at work, she had been so excited to possibly see Brian for the first time in almost a week. Except, when she walked in the door it was empty, again.
She walked right back to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine. Another night alone, i have nothing better to do. She gulped her first 2 glasses without a second thought, before she knew it she had gone through a whole bottle of wine by herself. She glanced at the clock 1:35, how could he not be home or at least text her saying he would be home late.
Within moments one tear fell and then another and another. She slowly walked back in the kitchen and grabbed another bottle of wine and her glass and went in her room. She drank and drank until she was numb, until she couldn't feel the pain of the fact that Brian could be trying to avoid her.
She went back into the living room and put her glass in the sink and threw the bottles away and made her way back to her room. She curled up in all of the blankets and fell asleep.
She had woken up at 5 am to rush to the bathroom, she cursed herself for drinking so much wine last night on such an empty stomach.
She had finally been able to leave the bathroom long enough to get ready and take some Tylenol and get to work fairly close to time. The second she got to work she knew that people were watching her.
"No, do I look hungover, please don't let people notice," she thought to herself.
She got to her office without having a million questions asked, which as acting commanding officer was almost impossible.
Although she hadn't gone completely unnoticed, ever since her attack with Lewis Nick had kept a close eye on Olivia just to make sure she was okay. Something had just seemed off to him, she wasn't acting like her normal self; instead she was sneaking around and trying to rush everywhere.
He had waited all he could but he decided rather than confront her try to talk to Brian, and see what insight he could maybe get from Brian.
He was surprised when he actually agreed to have lunch with him that afternoon, they had agreed to meet at a deli between both precincts.
There was silence for a moment and then Nick finally talked.
"Hey Brian, I wanted to talk to you about Liv."
"What why?" he replied out of pure confusion."
"She has just been acting really weird lately and she is almost acting like she is drunk, I'm really worried about her man. I know we don't always see eye to eye but I know we both care about her."
Brian almost totally shocked at the fact he had pretty much just called Olivia, his girlfriend, the strongest person he knew an alcoholic totally was mind boggling to him. "Wait what, um ok, I'll talk to Tucker today and see if I can possibly get the night off, don't tell her though she will only try to hide it."
"Thanks, alot, call if you need anything, or if you need any help tonight I'm there for her, she's my partner I just want to help her."
"Thanks man, it's nice to know there is always someone watching her back when I'm not there. And if this goes the way I think it might with her being very stubborn, I might call you for some reinforcement. Because I really want her to get better, and i may be IAB, but when I am home trust my I am not IAB I am a boyfriend who cares a lot his girlfriend," and with that Brian got up and left.
Nick was left sitting there realizing that he really does care about Olivia, and that if something was wrong Brian would help her to get better."
A/N: Does Brian get home that night, if so what happens when he talks to Olivia? Will Nick be called? Will she realize something is wrong and get help? Keep reading to find out.
