Gillian stood leaning against the doorframe, her blue eyes watching the man inside lovingly.

She laughed as he whispered softly to the baby in his arms, the funniest expression on his face that she had ever seen.

He spun around in suprise when he heard her, and she covered her mouth as her cheeks reddened in embarresment.

"I- umm- You were just too adorable to interrupt." She admitted.

"Don't worry 'bout it, luv. I was just putting my lil' angel to sleep." He said, letting his accent slip as he stared adoringly at the small pink bundle in his arms.

"She's beautiful, isn't she?" she asked, laying her head on his shoulder.

"Just like her mother."

"How many times do you plan on making me blush in one night?" She asked, playfully swatting his arm as the redness on her cheeks faded to a light pink.

"Shh... She's asleep." he whispered, laying her down gently.

"C'mon luv." Her husband whispered, wrapping his arm around her waist and leading her across the hall to their bedroom.

Gillian glanced back at her sleeping daughter, and couldn't help but remember how she had gotten to that moment...
