So, now a songfic. I've decided to make it a kind of personality reversal between Russia and Belarus. Just because that's what this song reminds me of.
So, I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Russia, Belarus, Hetalia or Little Sister by Queens of the Stone Age.
Part 1- Alone
"Hey sister, why you all alone?
I'm standing outside your window,
Hey little sister, can I come inside there?
I wanna show you all my love,
I wanna be the only one.
I know you like nobody ever, baby."
Natalia looked outside into the night, over the Belarusian landscape that gleamed in the ethereal silver light of the full moon. The lonely dark would not seem so bad to most people, but Natalia knew that tonight was dangerous. He wouldn't leave her alone. Why wouldn't he leave her alone? It made no sense. She was his obssession, and he didn't seem to realise how much it scared her.
Rather than question it, Natalia left the window, hoping deep within that he wouldn't decide to visit her today. She wrapped her arms around herself, as if to try and protect herself from a non-existant cold, or to hold in her sanity. She watched the candleflames around the room dance, tiny beacons in the darkness of the room. With a sigh of fear and worry, she laid down on one of the white sofas. The flickering of the tiny flames lulled her into a sleep that she wasn't even aware of.
And Natalia dreamed. She was stood in a snowy tundra wasteland, beneath a grey sky in her thin purple satin dress. The sub-zero winter temperature easy pinched her pale skin, but that wasn't what seemed to bother her. Ahead, beckoning her, was her brother. He was smiling as though he really wasn't an obssessive monster, but as though he was the kind-hearted brother she would love to have. Half of Natalia's dream-self wanted to run to Russia and see if this really was her brother, but the other half pulled away, unable to trust Ivan. She stood frozen in the snow, watching as Ivan turned and walked away, turning his back on her. Now Natalia moved, charging through the bitter white but no matter how fast she ran, she couldn't see Russia. He was gone.
A sound, someone tapping lightly on glass, echoed through the chilly winter air. Natalia looked about, but there was nothing to make a noise like that. The scene faded to black, with still no sign of Ivan, and Natalia awoke with a start, hearing still the tapping sound. She sat up, looking at the window and nearly screaming when she saw Ivan, looking inside with cold violet eyes, searching for her. She held her breath, knowing he knew she was there. He wasn't going to let her go at all. Not safe.
"Little sister? Little sister, let me in." he said darkly. He must have been waiting a while. Natalia wondered if he would notice, if she left the room. She carefully stood up, making sure not to stand too close to the candles for fear that she could be seen in their light.
"I can see you, little sister." Ivan said. Natalia turned slowly, her breath hitched in her throat. Those malicious eyes were staring right at her, bright and glowing demonically. Natalia began to back away from the window, her eyes constantly on Ivan as he watched her.
"Don't go. Let me in. Please, little sister, it's cold out here, da? Don't leave me." his expression, which was vacant, never changed, "I only want to see you."
"No, big brother, you can't come in." she answered loudly, hoping he would hear and especially hoping he would just go, and leave her alone. Natalia knew things could be better than this. If Vanya would just let go.
"Why not, little sister?" Ivan's voice was accusing now.
"Vanya, please go. You're scaring me." Natalia said, feeling a warm tear slide down her cheek. Her mind screamed 'Why?' at her. Why wouldn't Vanya go?
