A/N: A very short little ficlet I wrote for LJ community 15 Minute Ficlets. Yes, I wrote it in 15 minutes. Its sad and angsty, so get ready. It's barely a fanfiction story. More of a ficlet. There won't be any more to it.

Title: Memory
Fandom: Gilmore Girls
Rating: PG

It hurts to remember. It hurts when he thinks about their relationship. When he made love to her.

It hurts to think about how it took 10 years for them to get together. All the lost time they spent apart. It hurts when he thinks of the pain he caused her. Of the hurt she felt when he broke her heart. Of the pain she caused him when she broke his.

But he wouldn't think about that. His memories filled his mind, but he pushed them out. Every kiss, every look, every word she spoke.

It's all he can think about as he watches them lower her coffin. He never got a chance to forgive her. To let her forgive him. They never got married. Never had a family. Never spent their lives together.

It hurts so bad to remember. His memory haunts him as he dreams of her car hurtling through the air, her body sent flying through the shattered glass. Her crystal eyes, lifeless and staring at him. His voice as he calls for her. But she couldn't answer. She never would.

Everything hurts now. The town is in pain. The reverend spoke some words as the town listened. He can barely here the voice as it echos softly throughout his head.

He never got a chance to tell her he loved her. He had so many chances, but never did. It hurts most to remember that.

The reverend was done, but he stood frozen, his eyes glazed over as they stared blankly at the mound of dirt. April tapped him gently, but he didn't move. Anna pulled her away slowly as the town scattered. Rory stood next to him, her head leaning against her palm, her eyes red and puffy. A soft voice was talking to her softly, and she unstiffened and slowly left as an arm gently pulled her away.

"Hey." Luke felt a hand on his shoulder. He glanced up as Jess stared back, his face stoic. "We should get going," Jess gently said. Luke gave a half nod. Jess turned and walked a few steps, stopping to glance back.

Luke looked up at the sky for a moment, as if hoping he might see her. But of course he wouldn't.

Jess was walking, his arm on Rory's shoulder as they walked. He glanced back at Luke, who was walking stiffly toward them.

Luke stopped. He glanced up again. It was snowing.
