"Cal? Can you come over? I need you."

"Sure luv. I'll leave right away."

"Please hurry." Gillian Foster begged, her voice shaking with fear.

"I will."

There was a click as he hung up.

She picked up a glass of water with her good arm, but immediatly set it down as water started spilling over the sides.

Too shaky. She thought.

She jumped at the sound of a car driving by on the street.

He'd better hurry.

Cal Lightman swerved, driving too fast through the crowded D.C. streets.

He honked loudly, slamming on the brakes as the car in front of him stopped suddenly.

I have to hurry!

If Foster was upset enough to call him in the middle of the night, then he should already be there.

Another wave of avxiety swept over him as he realized just how scared she must be.

Well she has every right to be.

"And I'm guessing Alec is still working." He growled aloud.
