Quick Author's Notes: The title means "miracle" or "wonder" in Japanese. :3 I was listening to Kiseki by BeForU, a song that I absolutely love with my whole friggin' heart X3 So I decided to name the fic after the song. They aren't exactly similar, but…whatever.
Kiseki
Nekozawa was a haphazard dancer. He didn't like to be touched and he didn't like to be in the light and he didn't want to move. So he slunk into the shadows and pulled his knees to his chest, wishing that Tamaki would go away.
They were at Ouran High School, at night. It was quite late, just an hour before midnight. The moon was large and full as if it had ballooned itself up just for this occasion. Nekozawa cursed it for going against his wishes.
"Nekozawa-kun!" Tamaki called as he twirled about in the empty hall. "Come dance with me!"
The hallway was huge. Tamaki stood in the very middle, an oil painting to his right and the succession of windows to his right. Bright streams of moonlight filtered through them, silvering the marble floors and silvering Tamaki as well. Nekozawa thought he looked lovely, the way his hair turned white-blond and his skin dappled dark, while his eyes were lit up with such happiness...
And then, he started dancing again.
Tamaki danced with the moonlight, not in it; his fingers gently brushed against beams of dust, pretending to hold onto them delicately as if they were a woman's fine hand. His waltz looked intricate and complicated, but elegant. He seemed to slide across the floor and through the moonlight on the tips of his toes.
I wouldn't be surprised if he sprouted wings, Nekozawa thought. For a brief moment, he wanted to join Tamaki in his moonlit dance.
"Nekozawa-kun," Tamaki said, turning around to face him. "Umehito-kun." He sounded breathless, but his eyes were shining with excitement and his cheeks were rosy, as if he had just gotten off the best roller coaster ride in the world. He panted a little, and then held out his arms, gesturing.
"Dance with me?"
Nekozawa couldn't resist anymore, no matter how much he wanted to. Gently he pulled off his cloak and the wig, and he stepped into the moonlight with Tamaki, and Tamaki took him by the hand and started to dance.
"You dance well, Umehito-kun," Tamaki whispered. He smiled, and leaned down to kiss Nekozawa on the cheek.
