Chapter One
The Beginning of the End
I watched as Monica and Chandler leave. I was wrapped in Ross's arms, and I felt happy. Ross kissed my cheek, and the smile on my face grew wider. "I'm gonna miss them." Phoebe replied. Tears fell down my cheeks, and I couldn't stop them.
I turned into Ross and cried into his chest.
"Oh, Rach, everything's going to be alright." He whispered.
"No, it's not," I cried, "Everything is changing!"
"Guys, I have to go, Mike has his parents over for dinner and I have to go meet them." Phoebe said. I nodded, and Ross did also.
"I'm going to go for a walk." Joey announced.
Ross and I were the only two people left alone outside of Central Perk. "I gotta go, I only got three hours off of work, will you be alright?" Ross asked. I smiled, lightly. "Of course, I will." I whispered, wiping my eyes free of tears.
"See you when I get home," He said, kissing me on the lips. "See you, too." I whispered. I headed back to my apartment the one that I shared with Joey. I looked across the hall to see Monica's and Chandler's apartment. Tears threatened to pour just thinking about what happened earlier, and I quickly opened the door.
I went directly to my room, and landed face first onto the bed. I began to sob, so much that my chest began to hurt. Just then, my phone rang, and I went into my purse to answer it. "Hello," I said. "Rachel, it's Judy, when did you say you were going to pick up Emma?" Judy asked.
"Uh, how about three?" I asked, my voice thick with tears.
"Sure, darling, Rachel are you okay?" Judy asked.
"Yeah, Judy, I'm just…thinking that's all." I said.
"Thinking about what?" Judy asked.
"Oh, nothing." I whispered.
"Alright, three o'clock it is then." Judy said, then we both hung up. Just then, I heard the door open and close. I got off the bed and went into the living room. Joey glumly walked to his chair and sat down. He didn't turn on the TV, he didn't do anything, except stare out the door.
"Joey, are you alright?" I asked.
"Don't know." Joey said.
"You sure, you have that look on your face." I said.
"What look on my face?" Joey asked. "I don't have a look on my face!"
"Right, anyway, are you going to be alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess, I'm going to go visit them this weekend." He said. "Tell them I said hi," I whispered.
He gave a light smile. "I will." He said.
I sighed. "I'm going to head over to the Gellar place." I said.
"Alright, see you later." Joey replied. I went outside in the hall, to find Monica's and Chandler's door open. I closed my eyes ,and walked away. Knowing that chapter of my life had ended.
