On a pitch-black night in a small east coast town, a woman carrying a tiny infant ran down a side street. She had the child in one hand and held her hood up with the other. She had to get rid of the baby before anyone knew what she had done.
The woman's name was Dr. Miranda Grey. She had recently been experimenting with the process of cloning humans, specifically the question of taking two DNA samples and coming out with one person. Apparently, it was possible. All too possible.
The baby was a clone of two friends of Dr. Grey's. Their names were Solomon and Drew Saturday. The Saturdays had no idea that anyone had tried to clone them, and Dr. Grey intended to keep it that way.
She paused on the steps in front of the orphanage. Am I doing the right thing? she wondered. Maybe I should just tell them... They can give her a good home. Dr. Grey looked down at the little girl's pale face. Two big gray eyes blinked innocently back at her.
Dr. Grey put the baby on the step, rang the doorbell, and ran off. She didn't turn back, not even when she heard her start to cry. No one could ever know about this or the Saturdays would come after her with pitchforks and torches.
The only clue she left to the little girl's identity was the name on her blanket: Rebekka.
On the other side of the country, a small baby boy started to cry. His name was Zak. He was the son of Solomon and Drew Saturday.
A/N: For anyone who was wondering. This used to be the prolouge to something that got deleted, so if you remember it from back when I first joined it's up again.
PS: Guess who finally figured out how to insert linebreaks?
