Penny and Leonard are at Bernadette and Howard's wedding. Just a short and cute story. If you're old enough, you should read the second half to this story. It's chapter 2 of my series of smut scenes "The Pleasuring Reaction". It's not even that smutty.

With this story though, I don't know much about weddings, so I didn't describe much. And I know Howard's jewish and I said something about an alter. I just didn't want to try to make up a wedding scene.

DISCLAIMER: I own nothing.

Leonard and Penny were at Howard and Bernadette's wedding. Leonard and Penny were able to walk up the aisle together since they were in similar positions on each side of the wedding party. Leonard was watching the couple before them walk down, not noticing that Penny was staring at him. He realized it was his cue to go and did a double-take when he saw Penny walking towards him from across the room, smiling. He couldn't believe that he was in a relationship with this beautiful woman in front of him.

When they met in the middle Leonard sincerely told her, "You look gorgeous," emphasizing each word as he spoke them.

Penny blushed as she put her arm through his. She would never tire of his compliments because they had such meaning. Leonard wasn't saying these things to get her into bed like other guys. He said them because he meant them wholeheartedly. Penny said a quiet "thank you" in return. As they turned to walk up the aisle together she added, "you look pretty handsome yourself."

They continued to walk in silence, smiling at the crowd that was watching them. They had almost reached their destination before Leonard spoke.

"The next time we walk down the aisle, we won't be walking together like this," Leonard started with a slight whisper. Penny glanced at him with a confused, almost hurt look. Leonard quickly added, "because I'll be waiting for you..." they reached the alter "...right here." He let go of her arm to turn and face her. Her mouth was hanging open, but she was sort of smiling too. He kissed her cheek and took his place next to Sheldon.

Penny walked to her position as well, not knowing what just happened. Did he really just say that? She thought. Penny looked over at Leonard, who was obviously just staring at her because he quickly jerked his head in the direction of the aisle. But she kept staring at him. It wasn't like Penny hadn't thought of marrying Leonard. They had been through a lot, changed a lot, to be able to be where they are today. She wouldn't have started a relationship with him again if she didn't think she was in this for the long hall. Penny loved Leonard. He was the one.

Leonard, look at me! She willed. It was like he read her mind because then he looked at her, smiling as he did so. And she smiled back one of her great Penny smiles.

Bernadette began to walk up the aisle. Everyone in the room stood and turned to look at her. Everyone except Penny. No. Penny looked at Howard. She saw the love, the passion, the loyalty in his eyes. She told him once to never let Bernadette go and she knew he never would.

Penny watched Bernadette walk up the rest of the way. Once Bernadette reached Howard, Penny looked up at Leonard at the same time he looked up to see her. Tears started to form in Penny's eyes, not because of Bernadette and Howard (but that's what she would claim later), but because she was staring at the man she was going to marry one day.

I love you, Leonard mouthed.

I love you, too, Penny mouthed back willing herself not to cry.
