Ghosts of the TARDIS
Summary: The Doctor and his new companion, Rin, find that people who haven't been on board the TARDIS in years are suddenly reappearing…
Disclaimer: Look, if I owned Doctor Who, it'd be broadcasted in the U.S. more then on PBS at 11:35 pm on Saturday nights! So obviously I have no power in the production/broadcast thing. I do, however, own Rin. She is mine. :-P Heheheh…
Chapter 1: Ghost?
"So… you have no idea where we're going?"
"Uh… yup!"
"Again?"
"Uh… yup!"
"Thought so," Rin laughed and went to go change into cleaner clothes - her current ones being covered with mud from chasing an extraterrestrial through a jungle - leaving The Doctor alone, fiddling with switches on the TARDIS console.
"Doctor!" he heard someone cry. That didn't sound like Rin…
"Rin! What's happened?" he called, frowning.
"What?" Rin called back confusedly.
"You called, didn't you?"
"No…" Rin walked back into the control room, in the process of pulling her long auburn hair into a pony tail. She looked past him and raised an eyebrow. "Who's that?" she pointed over his shoulder at a short brunette wearing a sparkly suit. But when The Doctor turned, there was no one there.
"Who?" he asked, looking back at Rin.
"Why… there was someone there! I swear it!" she walked over to wear the girl had stood. "She was standing right here…"
"Did she look familiar?"
Rin thought about it, "No… not at all. I probably would've remembered someone who dressed like that."
"Dressed like what?"
"Well… it was a sort of, sort of jump suit I think. And it was dark and glittery…"
"Hm…" The Doctor recalled the voice he'd heard. "What else did you notice about her?"
"Oh, I dunno… dark brown hair up to here, big eyes…"
"Zoe…" The Doctor muttered, then he shook his head. "No, no. Not possible. This must be a side effect from that gas we breathed while we were dealing with the Clorien back there…" but he didn't think so. Something strange was going on.
"What? Who's Zoe?" Rin asked, this was very confusing.
"She used to travel with me… but… but that was years ago… and besides, that couldn't be her."
"Why not?"
"Well, she doesn't remember me…" he knew Rin would've asked him why, but she appeared to have another thought.
"Wait a second! It can't possibly be a reaction to the gas… I wouldn't have seen Zoe, I 've never even heard of her before!" she had found a flaw in his excuse. "Then how did I see her?" Rin continued. "She… she's not a…"
The Doctor looked up at her, "A what?"
"A… a ghost?"
