Last Visit
It had been 16 days exactly since his death.
16.
That was his favorite number.
Hiro had hidden himself from all of society. The last time Aunt Cass had seen him was at the funeral 11 days ago.
He felt broken, at best. He felt like something had been ripped out of him. He sat against Tadashi's bed headboard, gripping his pillow tightly. Tears swelled in his eyes as he flashed back to the explosion.
Hiro sank into the bed as silent, heavy tears slid from his eyes.
"Hiro…" The boy could still hear his brother's voice. "Hiro, stop crying."
Hiro squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head. The attempts to block the voice out failed as the sound grew closer.
Tadashi sat at the edge of the bed and put a gentle hand on Hiro's head. "Hey, kid."
Hiro tensed for the very first second he felt the hand on his head. After that first second, he relaxed, a few tears still rolling from his closed eyes.
"Wh-what are you doing here?" He whispered, calm.
"I wanted to see you. I wanted you to see me." Tadashi replied softly, his hand moving down to touch Hiro's face.
"Why…? I can't imagine how much A-Aunt Cass wants to see you." His eyes were still closed.
"I don't want her to see. I don't want anyone to see me. They wouldn't understand, now would they?"
Hiro shook his head, smiling ever so softly. "Probably not." He opened his eyes slowly, his eyes instantly meeting his brother's.
"I don't want to leave, Hiro." Tadashi mumbled, leaning in. He placed a sweet, chaste kiss on Hiro's lips.
Then, Tadashi was gone.
