Perhaps she was evil, perhaps she was just as bad as Akio and the only way she could be innocent was to act the part yes, life would be a stage for her. She would walk onto it with her head held low, her ever present smile plastered onto her face all the while feeling the evil inside her fester and destroy. She didn't mind it; to a certain extent she almost welcomed it. Pain had been her friend far longer than comfort. Bruises lasted much longer than a kiss or a touch and because pain was so undesired by everyone else she could take in as much as she wanted, whether it be from others or even herself.

She let classmates hit her and played the part of victim all the while hoping they would do it again. She allowed her body to be used in anyway others saw fit because she herself was incapable of initiating it. Incapable of expressing any desire. Incapable of even feeling it. At one time she had been innocent, had been the true version of the doe eyed girl she now pretended to be but all that had gone, died with her beloved Dios. She kept only his corpse now, her pet Akio whose desire for death was not nearly as strong as her desire to keep him. She wanted suffering. He suffered and for the few hours she indulged in his presence her need was met.

Anthy claimed to love Akio but her true love had long since disappeared. Akio was simply her flesh toy. A vessel on which she could release all her anger and hatred for the world and the life it had given her. The life she was far too furious to let kill her as it should have done all those years ago. He fulfilled her fantasy if only for a moment and in return she fulfilled his as the innocent pet all the while holding tight to the leash he was too blind to realize she had placed upon him.

Utena was gullible despite all Anthy had showed her the girl still believed there was good in everyone, even her. A fact she still fought to prove even after the rose bride had attempted to take her life. If Anthy closed her eyes she could still see the question in her betrothed's eyes a look that muttered out the simple word "…why". There would be no answer for even Anthy didn't know. For this was only the second act and she was not yet ready to take her bow.
