Tyranny
In King's Landing lives we eke,
Shuffling through its crowded streets.
All are starving, all need sleep,
But of our woes we dare not speak.
…
Our 'king' dwells in his vanity,
While we question his sanity.
Many of us would like to flee,
But the world's as bad as this damn city.
…
Foes from without, cruelty within,
The Great Sept ignores Joffrey's sins.
In our woe we cannot win.
Our king is surely not our kin.
Historian's note
This is but one of many pieces of anti-Lannister/King Joffrey literature that has its origins in the War of the Five Kings. What happened to the author (if anything) is not exactly known. However, common belief holds that his head ended up on a pike and his balls somewhere else.
