Title: Limousines

Notes: This is just a short Henry POV cause I thought it would be nice to have an explanation of what Henry was thinking after he broke up with Lane, just one short chapter. I am not profiting from this and I do not own any of the rights to these characters. And the first bit of dialogues is from "A Tisket A Tasket" written by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Spoiler: After A Tisket A Tasket

Limousines

HENRY: I asked somebody else.

LANE: Oh.

HENRY: I'm sorry, I just figured you'd never be able to go and - .

LANE: No, it's okay, that's good. You should've asked someone else.

HENRY: I do like you Lane.

LANE: Okay, well, thank you, I appreciate that. I have to go.

HENRY: Lane.

I didn't want to break up with her. But I want to be able to bring her out in public, take her to the movies, to dinner at my house, to the prom. I didn't ask someone else out on purpose, it just happened. It hadn't even occurred to me to ask Lane, I didn't think she would ever be able to go with me. So I asked my lab partner Jenny. It wasn't anything romantic, I certainly don't have any feeling for Jenny, we get along great and always make each other laugh, so I thought if I couldn't take Lane, I might as well ask Jenny. I knew she wouldn't be able to go cause she was dating another sophomore, so there's be that added bonus for her. When I asked her she did ask, "What about that girl you're talking about? Why aren't you going with her? Is it because of her mother?" I had told Jenny about Lane's mom and how we had to sneak around, how I could only call Lane pretending to be Rory.

I felt bad, but it was my prom. I wanted to take a girl who I could pick up at her house and her parents would take picture of us and tell us not to stay out too late. I wanted to have a typical prom night with my high school girlfriend, which I knew I wouldn't be able to do with Lane. Of course that's beside the point cause we've broken up, any chance of ever being able to take her out is gone. I would really like to date her, but I don't think her mother would ever let me.

Well maybe someday Lane and I will meet up and she won't have to worry about her mother's rules. Maybe then I could take her to prom.
